But, I see Huffman winning out, Liberty splitting their last two games, and Shepherd losing their only game left to Huffman, leaving Huffman taking the 3rd spot and advancing to the Div. I playoffs.
Just curious, but why is it that you "think" Huffman will win out? Liberty beat them and Shepherd beat Liberty pretty handily. Is there a method to your madness or just wishful thinking... LOL. ;D I bet you have now become a huge Huffman fan. ;) ;D
Just a hunch, Gas. I think Huffman is the better team over Shepherd and will win out. I think Huffman's loss to Liberty was one of those "head scratcher" games, you know what I am talking about. ;) Like I said, I think Silsbee beats any team from that district, so if it's Cleveland or Huffman, doesn't matter.

 3.
If Huffman wins out, they're in. Don't see it happening tho.
Actually I do see them winning out. But even winning out doesn't get them in. They have to beat Shepherd by at least 10 or more points if they end in a three way tie with Liberty and Shepherd. Here is how Huffman, Liberty, and Shepherd currently stand both in standings, tie breaker points, and games left: Huffman   1-3   -5    Shepherd, Tarkington Liberty     1-3   -9    Tarkington, Coldspring   Shepherd  3-2   +14    Huffman I see Huffman winning both their games finishing 3-3. I see Liberty splitting their games finishing 2-4 and I see Shepherd losing to Huffman to finish 3-3. If Liberty does split and finishes 2-4, then the winner of this week's Huffman and Shepherd game will go to the playoffs as long as Huffman takes care of business against Tarkington in the last week of district. If for some reason Liberty were to win their last two games, then Huffman will need to defeat Shepherd this week by 10 or more to give them the tie breaker over Liberty and Shepherd.

Soulja, this chip you are carrying on your shoulders for your Jags is getting pretty big. Every team has it's naysayers. If any team around here has a gripe about not getting any respect, it should be PNG. Most folks, including myself, had them not making the playoffs this season.
I was picking with you AAW for the last few weeks on you picking against Central.  It's really no big chip on my shoulder.  That's why you see me on several threads that talk about rankings and why Central is so low.  I'll respond with 'No Comment'.  Because us Jag fans along with our players are used to it.  You know, like last year when we were picked against our whole playoff venture last year.  I'm in reference that make comments like 'well, they are fast, but have no discipline'.  I have asked several times what that meant and never got a response.  The point of this thread is for the doubters to eat their words.
I'm not understanding what you mean by me picking against the Jags the last few weeks. The last time I picked against the Jags was when the played Vidor in the opening district game. Since then (5 weeks now) I have taken the Jags to win in their games. Soulja, please explain what you are meaning by that statement.

 6.
It looks like that third place team out of 21-3A will play Coldspring.  Two teams have wrapped up playoff spots out of 22-3A.  Cleveland will be going Division I and Coldspring will be the #1 Division II team out of that district.
To quote Lee Corso, "Not so fast my friend"! ;D Grad, there is still a chance for Huffman to make the playoffs. It all depends on if they can beat Shepherd this coming week.
 7. Let's get something clear, contrary to what you might think, you can't say what you want on this site. We do have rules you know.  ;) With that said, no rules has been broken, but I agree with Bleed, using the word "pathetic" is a bit harsh.
 8. My picks to make the regional tourney: Cleveland- district 22-3A champ Silsbee- district 21-3A champ Crockett- district 20-3A champ Lufkin Hudson- district 18-3A runnerup Semis would pit Cleveland vs. Crockett out of the top bracket, Silsbee vs. Hudson out of the lower bracket. Here is last year's bracket to give you some perspective: [Hidden Content] This is not necessarily the best 4 in the region, but who I think will make the tourney. Some teams will have an easier route while other top teams will eliminate one another.
 9. I would say that the Houston Wheatley teams of '70-'72 with Eddie Owens and Co. could play with anyone in this era.
 10. This shouldn't even be brought up for discussion. Lincoln by a wide margin.
 11. I ain't skeered!! Bring'em on!! I got something for them.
 12. I'll take the Redbirds in this one, 35-21.
 13. Bridge City is the better team out of them and Orangefield. I look for the Cards to win next week against the Bobcats. But, anything can happen, particularly in a rivalry game. I did hear that Corey Huckaby has a concussion, could be out next week. Not good for the Bobcats.
 14.
I think HJ will match up with them just fine.  If Silsbee thinks it will be a cake walk then they are sadly mistaken.
I have seen HJ twice this year. I like, correction, love the Tigers chances of winning this game handily. BTW, the Silsbee players and coaches are not taking anyone for granted. That's for us fans to do. ;)
 15.
Sorry AAW but no more "Domination" on the volleyball court. ;D ;D
Yep Bleed, no more. Congrats to the Lady Bobcats on an impressive win! Orangefield= DOMINATION!!!!! (one last time, for the good times ;D)
 16. Chris Barnes, Silsbee senior RB 12 rushes  178 yards  3TD's
 17. J.K. Keefer, Silsbee soph. linebacker 16 tackles, 5 for loss, 1 sack, 1 pass knockdown.
 18.
nope
I second that motion. Everyone in agreement say "I". Any oppose? I believe the "I's" have it. ;D
 19. Silsbee sweeps Orange Count teams; downs OF, 56-20 Dan Perrine The Orange Leader ORANGEFIELD — The Silsbee Tigers completed the Orange County trifecta Friday night. The Tigers won their third straight district game over an Orange County team with a 56-20 victory against the Orangefield Bobcats at F. L. McClain Stadium. Silsbee (4-4, 3-0) showed why it was leading the District 21-3A through two weeks of district play. The Tigers’ defense held the vaunted Orangefield offense which was tops in the district to just 5 first downs and 85 yards in the first half. Highly touted Silsbee quarterback Jeremy Johnson started slowly in the contest, throwing two interceptions and fumbling the ball a couple of times. In the second quarter Johnson showed his skill leading two touchdown drives and getting the touchdowns on both drives. Johnson added a third score in the third quarter gaining 87 yards rushing for the game. Orangefield (4-4, 1-2) has a very good quarterback in Corey Huckabay who entered the game as the leading rusher in the district. Huckabay finished the night with 18 carries for 45 yards, and left early following a heavy hit by the Silsbee defense. One play was all that the Tigers needed to take the first lead of the game. Chris Barnes took a handoff, burst through the middle of the line, and then sprinted 72 yards for a touchdown just 23 seconds into the game. The snap on the point-after was bad, so the holder Jacob McDonald rolled out and passed to Leroy Simmons for two points. The Bobcats managed one first down their first possession, but their defense made the big play to get them back in the game. Johnson tried to throw a screen pass which the Bobcats’ Josh Shores read to perfection. Shores bobbled the pass initially, then gathered it in and raced 28 yards with the interception for the touchdown. Orangefield went for two, but Huckabay was stopped keeping the score 8-6 in favor of Silsbee with 7:32 to play in the first quarter. Just two plays after the kickoff Orangefield’s Derrick Evans intercepted another Johnson pass and momentum was definitely on the Orangefield side of the field, or at least for three more plays. On third down Huckabay’s pass was picked off by the Tigers’ Jarrian Rhone at the Orangefield 30, and he avoided several tacklers to score with 5:27 left in the first. Silsbee threatened its next possession, but the Bobcats’ Quinton Evans recovered a fumble by a Tiger receiver at the Orangefield 28. Orangefield was forced to punt after three plays, and Rakeem Bolton brought the punt back 68 yards for the touchdown with 2:25 to play in the quarter. Caleb Henry’s point-after made the score 22-6 in favor of the Tigers. Johnson added to the Tigers’ lead with the first of his three touchdowns on 3-yard keeper around right end. During the drive Johnson completed two of three passes for 36 yards and earned a key first down with a 19-yard carry. The Orangefield offense which had been stymied throughout the first quarter started clicking in the second quarter. Derrick Evans and Huckabay both had 6-yard pickups to get a first down. Huckabay got his lone completion of the night as he hit Quinton Evans over the middle, and Evans gained 27 yards to the Silsbee 23. David Burton, just called up to the varsity, gained 7 yards before Huckabay got another first down to the 6 with a 10-yard running play. Evan Guidry found paydirt on the next play, and with 6:06 left in the half the Bobcats had cut the lead to 29-13. When the Bobcats defense forced a Silsbee punt on the next series, the momentum again appeared to be swinging towards the Bobcats. Silsbee quickly reversed the momentum by recovering an Orangefield fumble at the Bobcats’ 26 with only 43 seconds left in the half. After throwing two incompletions Johnson faded back for another pass on third down. With no one open he scrambled, he dodged tacklers, he carried tacklers, and finally 26 yards later Johnson scored a touchdown that showed why he is one of the top high school talents in the area. The score was 36-13 at the half. Things got out of hand in the third quarter. Orangefield fumbled on its first series and Silsbee recovered at the Bobcats’ 23. Johnson cashed in the turnover on the very next play sweeping left end and scoring seemingly untouched with less than a minute played in the third quarter. The next 7:37 seconds would be Orangefield’s. The Bobcats executed an 18 play drive that saw them move the ball from their own 22 to the Tigers’ 1. Orangefield gained 5 first downs on the drive, as many as it made in the whole first half. The net result, no points as the Tigers held on fourth-and-one. The Tigers then went on a 99-yard drive of their own. Johnson passed 33 yards to Kelson McDaniel for the touchdown early in the fourth quarter. The fourth takeaway of the night by the Tigers setup their last score. After recovering a fumble at the Silsbee 33, the Tigers rotated running Barnes and Bolton. Both picked up first downs on runs of 19 and 12 yards respectively. Barnes got his second touchdown of the night with a 13-yard run. With Huckabay headed to the locker room, Jacob Nunez came on to lead the Bobcats’ offense. Nunez completed his only pass to Burton for 10 yards and a first down. Derrick Evans eluded the Tigers for a 33-yard gain, the longest play from scrimmage for the Bobcats on the night. Guidry scored the touchdown on a 3-yard carry with 1:30 to play to make the final score 56-20. Orangefield must bounce back against county rival the Bridge City Cardinals next week in Bridge City. 20. I had Silsbee with 396 total yards, 281 rushing, 115 passing. Orangefield with 206 total yards, 161 rushing, 45 passing. I'll wait when I get the offical stats tomorrow from MrUmp in connection with Maury Salinger, official 21-3A statistician.

WO-S has several starters out, should be a good game with WOS winning.
At this time of the season nearly ALL TEAMS have some starters out.
I agree. Silsbee is missing 5 starters themselves.
Very proud moment for Lumberton. Keep hanging your hat on that one season. Silsbee will just keep doing what they do, make the playoffs.
If my memory serves me well, Silsbee has missed the playoffs only 4 times since 1970.
That is correct. In the last 39 years, only 4 times have the Tigers failed to make the playoffs. One of those years was 1982, my senior year. Back then only 1 team went to the playoffs and we tied Hebert for district after splitting with them, but lost to them in the district playoff game. Hebert went on to win state that year.
 23. Actually, Bridge City has beaten West Orange, just never WOS.
