  1. If Jasper beats Carthage (not when, skipper) then you'll see Jasper in the top 10. Unless of course they lose other games before they meet Carthage.
  2. Boy, I tell you, give an Aggie a mile and he wants to take an inch. Give an Aggie a degree, and he prefers a GED! Aggies aren't "given" degrees, they are earned. Then they are called BOSS!! ;D BTW, an inch over a mile is more than a mile. Thought I would help you out in that equation.
  3. Would it help you if it was posted that Evadale is the best 1A team in the area? They have been the only 1A team in the poll. The state poll is JUST a 1A poll, big difference. Just having a little fun Aggie, it's all good! Me too. Hey Aggie You guys got any plans for a Evadale broadcast again this year? Unless they play on a night that Silsbee is not playing, probably not. Silsbee is off this week but I am already committed to do the EC/Buna game. Besides, I don't think Sabine Pass would be set up for me to broadcast. Don't think the game would be that great neither. If Evadale advances to the playoffs further than Silsbee, that could be a definete consideration.

  5. Where as the Jags have faced 3 athletic 5a teams. My point being that there is nothing that Vidor can dish out that we having seen 10 fold already. Also, we have not played an overall complete game yet. If we play all 4 quarters like we know we can, we will be 1-0 in district after this week... I hear what you are saying, Soulja. But one thing is missing here. Central has not played a team like Vidor. Like you said, they have faced athletic teams but Central has not faced a team with the makeup of Vidor. That's a different animal all to it's self. It gave that great defense of Central's fits last year, don't see why it wouldn't do the same this year. It's all about matchups. Doesn't matter who you have played before this Friday night if those teams don't resemble who you are facing in the coming game.
  6. Some of us Aggies have a little bit of intelligence. I do know that Dove's are mostly bird brains.
  7. ....therefore Jasper should be ranked ahead of Newton. Is that your point?
  8. I agree with you, DV. I think where these kids get the real exposure other than playing for their respective schools, is at the camps. I know that in football, the recruiting services really specialize on the camps that the players attend. I was fortunate enough to be given a lot of insight on Silsbee's Jeremy Johnson's recruitment, and what I saw was a lot of emphasis on the camps that JJ attended. Yes, colleges knew about him from his playing games for Silsbee, but the services spread the word much greater with his camp appearances and how he performed at these camps. That's exposure. But, it still comes down to how you perform on the field in real games and that's why West Virginia wanted him. I believe this is how it is in basketball too.

  10. Though it seems. I troll for "you know who". ;D 89, you are very much invited to comment on as many Silsbee threads as you like. We welcome it. ;D
  11. I have to laugh at the poster who is saying WOS will hang 60 on Silsbee. That's funny right there I don't care who you are. ;D WOS can't hang 60 against Silsbee on the hardwood, much less do it on the football field. This kind of comment leaves you no credibility, Stangs92. Will WOS beat Silsbee? Most likely. But they will not score 60 points. The last 3 years that these two teams have played each other since dropping down to 3A, WOS has scored a combined 51 points in those 3 games. That's an average of 17 points a game, far cry from 60. I think last year's Mustang offense is better than this year's version, and they only scored 14 against Silsbee, 7 of that in overtime. They won't get 60 in one game, I'll bet any amount of money you want on that.

  13. Looks like someone from HJ scooped ole "holier than thou" 87's "hard" work. ;D
  14. I think Toby is a fine and very capable OC. He will do just fine, given time. But obviously Randy was very under appreciated.
  15. Anyone interested in doing the color for this game or maybe have someone you could suggest? My regular color man is taking the week off since Silsbee is off this week. PM me if anyone is interested.
  16. No, No, No, DII!!!! ;D I hear ya, Gas. I don't think anyone wants to face these guys this year. Maybe Silsbee and WOS can combine teams and face Gilmer in the playoffs. That might be a good game.
  17. He saw the film too, Coop. He says the player was in. Who is right? I'll tell ya who is right, neither of you. The refs are the ones who made the call, that's all that matters.
  18. I agree, Gas. But I will not allow Kerry to have the last word, you know that. Particularly the words he speaks. Of course unless he wants to speak of his own shortcomings. ;D
  19. Penalties WOS 10-70 yards Jasper 14-102 yards
  20. What are you suggesting? Did the refs determine the outcome of this game?
  21. So again, Jasper did not win this game, WOS lost it by giving the game to Jasper, correct? Jasper did not earn this victory folks, so you cannot count it as a win. :
  22. You mean like the mistake that Jasper made by fumbling on their own 3 yardline GIVING WOS an easy score. Or maybe the 14 penalties that Jasper had, are those the kind of mistakes you are talking about? : This is getting old, I admit. But I will continue to post as long as I see these kind of posts. ;D
  23. The final score is a little misleading. Central jumped out to like a 21 point lead and got complacent. That's what allowed Vidor to get back in the game. The scoring went as follows: 7-0 Central at the half 14-0 Central 14-7 Central 21-7 Central end of 3rd 21-14 Central 21-20 Central Vidor misses game tieing PAT Central never had a 21 point lead at anytime. The Jags hardly became complacent during the second half of this game. It was a battle the whole game.
