At the risk of watching HJ lose to Navasota and having egg all over my face, if I was Silsbee, I'd be very worried that they peaked too early in the year. Look at their last 3 games.  Lost to HJ.  Lost to Kountze.  Squeaked by Rudder.  By all definitions, Silsbee should make it to the Regional Finals, but if you looked at their last two weeks of games........ I have a feeling they are going to turn it up a notch or two from here on out, however.
My honest opinion is that the Tigers have went through a little lull but I fully expect this team to start catch their breathe after this win and really start playing well again.
 2.
BTW, what was with all the traveling calls?  Were the referees that picky or what?
All were correct calls. Of Silsbee's 23 turnovers, 10 were from the traveling violations.

I would have said Silsbee would lose this game if they shot 35% from the charity stripe and turn the ball over 23 times!!! Rudder is by far the quickest team that Silsbee has played all season, quicker than HJ and Kountze. Coach Chris Jones decision to take on the much taller Tigers almost paid off. Big key for Silsbee's win was out rebounding Rudder 49-29 and the Rangers missing 16 three's. The second quarter won it for the Tigers as they went into that quarter trailing by 7, 19-12, but started the quarter on a 9-0 run to take the lead and then got another 10-0 run to go into half, leading 39-30. Silsbee took the lead at the 5 minute mark of the 2nd and never relinquished it the remainder of the game. Silsbee got as big as a 15 point lead, 37-22. Silsbee maintained that 9 point lead throughout the 3rd quarter, but continued to struggle from the line, missing their first 9 attempts in the second half. Silsbee at one time was 9/31, a terrible 29%, but made the last 2 that really counted, to get the win. Very clutch free throws made by soph. guard Kelton Gaines. Silsbee got balanced scoring tonight with Lane, Hill, Jones and Stallworth all scoring in double figures. Jones again was the man for Silsbee on the boards as he collected a game high 12 rebounds. Big factor late for Silsbee was not having Stallworth on the floor in those last few minutes as he was battling cramps most of the 4th. DC toughed it out as much as he could but had to sit those last 2 minutes of the game. Silsbee got the win, barely, and now move on to face WOS for the third time this season. Congrats Tigers on a very hard fought win.
 4. Stats coming up soon. First I got to pop a top on a cold one and chill.
 5. Silsbee out scored Rudder in the 2nd quarter 27-11
 6. Rudder is 1/11 from 3 point land. Silsbee out rebounded Rudder 24-13 in the first half.
 7. Thank you. Just got to my hotel room and got online.
 8. Any final yet on Silsbee/Ozen game?
 9.
I said he was a great coach but not a legend at Lincoln. In my opinion, he became a legend at Ozen building a program from nothing. Once again, he was a great coach in the beginning and became legend at Ozen. When you think Lincoln the first coach that comes to mind is Coach Gamble, not Boutte or Price. On the other hand, when you think Ozen the first name that comes to mind is Coach Boutte.  All these coaches are great people and great leaders with legendary careers.
Well duh!! Up until the middle of last season, he was the only basketball coach that Ozen had ever had. Of course people are gonna think Boutte when thinking of Ozen. ::)
 10. I didn't know that me being a Silsbee grad, former Silsbee basketball player, broadcasting all Silsbee sports, paid by Silsbee sponsors, that I had to be unbiased in my broadcasting of Silsbee games. ;) ::) Nobody is forcing you to listen.  ;D I think I call a fair game. ;D
 11.

How is this team catching so much flack? I have seen many other teams with way more players on it than this one. If you don't like it, go to coaching school so you can fix it. Haters Good job 21-3A coaches and congrats to these young ladies.
I wasn't downing the team just commenting on the size of club. There are some very good players on this club but if every starter on every team in this district made all district you would have 30 players. You have 28 players on this list. Are there really that many standout players in the district ? I have also seen other teams with more players but not in a 6 team district. I just happen to think that the players that excel should be recognized and it's just a fact of life that not all players excel.I have wished many times I had gone in to coaching but I don't think it would fix this.
I have to agree with "Whsalum". My only question is why so many? How do you think the two girls that did not get picked feel. If you are going to nominate 28 kids, why not 30 and make it a clean sweep. This happens every year not just this year. I looked at the all district picks from 1979 in football. There was an offensive MVP, defensive MVP, 13 first teamers, 12 second teamers and about 10 (?) honorable mentions. The 13 first teamers where all position players a punter and a kicker. That equals 13 like it should be. Let say you have 22 starters in a 6 team league that is 132 players. Accorrding to the picks in 1979 only 37 kids got mentioned. That is a far cry from 28 out of 30. The percentages are a tad off.
Bleed, help me understand those numbers you put out here. You say there was only 13 first team all-district players in football. I take it that this was an offensive and defensive combined? 13 just doesn't add up. 22 players, 11 offensive, 11 defensive, to me would be first team. Did they not do an offensive first team and a defensive first team?

 13. I'll let them come to me, at the state tourney. ;)
 14.
I said tarkington would win by 5 not really a tarkington fan more of a cleveland fan. If hj plays cleveland cleveland will win that one by atleast 10 points.
Well, you were very wrong on the Tarkington pick, what makes you think you'll be right on the Cleveland pick?
 15. Of the 19 area teams that qualified for the playoffs, only 9 teams advanced thru the bi-district round, with 4 of those getting byes in the first round. That means our local teams went 5-10 in the first round. Not too good, to say the least. Teams advancing: 4A Nederland (won) 3A Silsbee (bye) 3A HJ   (won) 3A WOS (won) 2A Kountze (bye) 2A Anahuac (won) 2A East Chambers (won) 2A Woodville (bye) 1A Spurger (bye) Teams going out in 1st round 5A PAM 5A West Brook 4A Ozen 4A Central 4A Livingston 4A Barbers Hill 2A Newton 2A San Augustine 1A Evadale 1A Sabine Pass Let's hope the remaining 9 can advance past the next round. (actually only 8 can advance as Anahuac and Woodville face each other)
 16.
in another positive, the Ags are down 8 to Baylor with 7 minutes left!
Positive??
