I wasn't there but I just spoke to someone who was there and the balk was actually called on the catcher. From what I gathered, runners on 1st and 3rd, 2 outs, the runner on first started to slightly jog to 2nd to try and induce a throw to maybe score the runner from 3rd. PNG catcher stood up out of his stance thinking that the pitcher was going to try and throw the runner out. But the pitcher made the pitch instead and the catcher got back down in his stance and made the catch. That is a no-no. Had the catcher remained up in his stance no balk would have been called. It's still a pretty crappy way to end a series.

Lamar has answered with 4 runs in bottom of 5th. Texas St. making another pitching change sending their 4th pitcher in of the game. Lamar still batting in the 5th with bases loaded, 2 outs, leading now 12-7.

Looks as though Texas St. started the wrong pitcher too. After Texas St. scored 4 in the top of the 2nd to take the lead, 4-1, Lamar has answered back with 5 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to retake the lead 6-4. lamar still batting in the bottom of the 2nd. Anthony Moore hit his 3rd homer of the tourney, a two run shot.

Getting a balk called right after PNG defended the suicide squeeze perfectly is a very tough way to lose the series.

Obviously I am not there, but unless it was a blatant balk, a game winning run should NEVER be scored on a balk!!!! Particularly a series winning run!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! PNG 8 FW  9 Mustangs won on a balk in the bottom of the 9th. Friendswood advances.

Extra innings in 96 degree heat!! Going to top of the 8th, still tied at 8-8.

Sounds like the 2nd base ump wanted someone else to make that call. ;)
