1. Oh, and Dove came by the broadcast table after the game showing off his Hamshire-Fannett stadium seat!!! Dove, you got to get with the program, you're a Panther now!
 2.
Yes they Re stil short 2! Aggie will those 2 be back before the Nedeland Tourney?
Not sure. Paper work is in and now just have to get the ruling. Everything looks good and I expect them to play as soon as next week. The one from Irving McArthur will have a big impact on the varsity squad. He is no JV player!
 3. It was a fantastic start for Silsbee jumping out to the 16-0 lead, led 18-5 after 1st. But I give credit to Ozen as they made some great adjustments and really played excellent defense in the 2nd half putting a clamp down on the Tiger fast break. It also helped that Ozen's size advantage enabled the Panthers to kill Silsbee on the boards, 46-31 (Ozen's Maize pulled down 23!!!) It was free throws down the stretch (4th and OT) that was the difference in the game as Silsbee made 7 of their last 9 (78%) to Ozen's 5 of their last 18 (28%). Also, Silsbee was battling the injury bug in the second half(three players cramping, another slight sprain) along with foul trouble. Tigers only suited out 10 and played just 9 versus Ozen suiting out 15 and playing 12. It played a role in the 2nd half. Credit to both teams for their play last night. Both showed heart and determination along with being very skilled. Not sure who would win a rematch because I know Ozen will get better now that they have their full team but also Silsbee will get better once they are able to get a player back (out for grades) and the 2 transfers are allowed to play.
 4.
Sounds like if Ozen had made FT they would have won game in regulation!!!!!  Gonna be a great basketball season, especially once everyone gets their basketball legs!!!!!  Hoping for a great warmup games for the SE Texas schools!!!  Could be some really BIG time games!!!! Would love to see a HJ vs. Ozen and Silsbee vs. Nederland game in the Playoff Preview!!!!!
Yep. Silsbee was very fortunate that Ozen shot 40% from the charity stripe but Ozen was fortunate that they got to go to the line 40 times!! ;)

 8. Ozen has a definite size advantage over Silsbee.
 9. Philadelphia 76'ers Luke Jackson in the house!!!!
 10. Can't wait to see them play!
Actually, it's Ozen's bigs that are killing Silsbee. Tigers can't get a rebound. Doves are playing well.
And the stats for Crockett won't do them no good Friday.    All the stats in the world won't be able to make up the 20 point difference.
Crockett don't need no stats!!
 12. JV game getting late start. 6:30 start for JV. Will be more like a 7:45-8pm start for varsity.
 13. Final Tarkington    62 Silsbee        35
 14.
I believe it is even bigger than Silsbee's gym....at least on the home side.
You are right. The side behind the benches at Vidor is the same size as Ozen's gym. Vidor probably holds around 2000.
 15. Vidor's gym holds more than 300-500. It is the same size of Silsbee's gym and Tiger Gym has a capacity of 1500.
According to my boss (owner of this site) Dove is banned from all future SETXsports broadcasts. Besides, I have R.V. Baugus to help me tonight.

 22.

That is who does show up.....the parents, and those who have a vested interest.  HJ had a pretty good following this year regardless of their season.  WOSGrad and AAW like to use the Silsbee game as an example but, fail to mention that it was late in the season, on the road, and the first real cold front of the year.  So, yes, there was a poor outing for that game but, overall the crowds were pretty decent at games this year despite the record. That is why it is bothersome to have someone say "they are just passing time".  There are too many people that it is a slap in the face to and is simply not an accurate assessment.  I don't like the letter that was published in the BE and think it was inappropriate to publish such garbage.  Unfortunately, that is how the world works today....the media is looking to stir up anything negative because that is what sells.  I find it comical that people that don't even live in a community (or in this posts case in a nearby city) seem to have so many answers/opinions on what is or isn't going on.  Truth be told they know very little and that makes it even more troubling that they come on internet message boards and say things when they are not as informed as they think they are.
Well, in my case I wasn't just referring to the Silsbee game in my past comments on another thread. I actually have family and friends who work for HJISD. They tell me things and I also see things for myself. I do not think my comments are as "blind" and "uneducated" as you think they are. You make good and valid points about this season's football team. But I am not just talking about this year's football team. I speak about all of the athletics at HJ over the past few years. IMO, things should be better overall and I personally think is the "attitude" and not the coaching.
Who are your family and friends that work for HJ????
Check your pm's.
