AggiesAreWe replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
will there be a radio station or some sort of live broadcast that i can listen to the newton vs kirbyville game?
You will actually have a choice of which broadcast you want to listen to. You can choose the Kirbyville home broadcast or the Newton home broadcast all here at SETXsports. -

Eventually, the cream(me) rises to the top. ;D
you know Im pretty arrogant and I have called myself alot of things before but I dont think I have ever referred to myself as "the cream" :D
:D :D that could be dangerous statement Aggie
That's because you and rykerx have your minds in the gutter. ::)

Still no West Brook in the 5A poll. ::) -
In my best Cheech Marin voice, " Mexican-American!!! He likes football, and likes to make KFDM Coop miserable!!! ;D
-
This reminds me of a skit on a Cheech & Chong album: Scene: High school dance with a local radio station disc jockey spinning the tunes Disc jockey asks, "What is your name?" Cheech answers, "Uh, Juan Motime." Jockey "What grade are you in?" Cheech "Uh, 7th grade." Jockey "How old are you?" Cheech "Uh, 36!!" Jockey "What's your favorite class?" Cheech "Metal shop! I major in roach clips!"

I don't think Jordan would like it. Particularly that last comment. ;) (deleted, just having fun. And who is this Jordan guy? Is he that Jasper fan???)

I can vouch for Gasilla. He is not "ONE" of those WOS fans that will give you excuse after excuse if the Mustangs lose. He calls it like he see's it, unlike some (one) WOS fan. ;) -
Another commentary on the naming of BISD stadium

I was thinking the station was AM not FM.
LOL...im doin good to get you guys free food on Wednesday Night! It more likely to be the First Bank and Trust Scoreboard Show...
That's even better!!!
It could be....just revamped a little...I probably would have another person with me here in the studio, who would serve as East Texas guru here is the coverage map right now for the station [Hidden Content]
So, based on their wattage now, the farthest south it reaches is Lumberton. But with the new wattage, it would cover all the Golden Triangle. I believe that would be necessary if you were to do the show. Question, like other radio stations do, will that wattage be turned down at night? If so, how would that effect the coverage?
-
by the way, the going rate for the station 65 bucks and hour....so probably 130 bucks a week or so to do this
Sounds like we need a title sponsor for this show.

Would it be the OT show, just heard over the radio air ways?

A little piece from Bob West's column today: I’m still shaking my head over the Beaumont Independent School District naming its sparkling new football stadium after its somewhat controversial superintendent Carroll “Butch†Thomas. Why wouldn’t you name a new football showpiece after an inspirational athlete from Beaumont who has gone on to distinguish himself and bring pride and recognition to his hometown? Somebody like ground-breaking football pioneer Jerry LeVias, a guy who overcame mind-boggling abuse to become the first black football player in the Southwest Conference as a star at SMU. LeVias, of course, went on to a solid NFL career and continues to be involved in community work in Houston. Or Bubba Smith, the only player from Southeast Texas even taken with the very first pick of the NFL draft. Smith, of course, went on to considerable recognition as Hightower in the Police Academy movies. Earlier Beaumont Stadiums were named after sports figures Babe Zaharias and Alex Durley. Why such a self-serving reversal in policy? Levias Stadium has a good ring to it.

Silsbee takes this one. Cleveland looks lost without their QB who was lost for the season due to an injury in a scrimmage. Losing to Caney Creek, 1-9 last season and picked last in their district this year, 24-22 also shows the Indian defense has some work to do. It's the home opener for the Tigers, they will not disappoint the home crowd. Cleveland 12 Silsbee 34
Jasper-Silsbee-and any other program that is used to beating up Lumberton had better get used to the fact that Lumberton will now whip that tail.. ;) Oh yea.....Silsbee is already used to that.. ;D ;D ;D L-Train has beat Silsbee for prolly the last 8 or 9 straight ;D ;D ;D
Just so there is no "probablies" in this particular subject, here is the all time history of games played between Silsbee and Lumberton: year Silsbee Lumberton 1978 42 0 1979 32 12 1980 48 0 1981 13 0 1982 42 0 1983 28 6 1984 19 22 1985 22 19 1986 28 8 1987 56 0 1988 40 9 1989 22 0 1992 41 10 1993 56 17 1998 28 0 1999 25 0 2000 0 27 2001 14 34 2002 16 18 2003 16 24 2009 14 20 All time record Silsbee 15-6 Lumberton currently has a 5 game win streak. (not 8 or 9) ::) -
