I am sure Kirbyville will be fine next year. (it also helps playing in a weak 5 team district that 3 teams qualify for the playoffs ;)) I will say that I was not too impressed with Kirbyville's JV and Freshmen teams. Each time I saw them this year, they got it handed to them fairly good. I honestly think they'll be fine next year, but after that, they will be rebuilding.

After looking at the all-district list, I only have one question and it's for our resident WOS "guru" Kerry Cooper. How can WOS be returning 90% of their team (this is what you have previously stated) when 14 different WOS seniors made the all district team? That's 14 of their 22 starters, which is 63% of their starting lineup and is 41% of the entire team. Add the other 4 seniors to the list (looking at a WOS roster right now) and that has WOS losing 52% of their entire team, returning only 48%. Kerry, how did you come up with the 90% number? (again, this is only directed at Kerry, as I have seen no other WOS fan make these ridiculous comments)

Knowing that these coaches and players had a game today at 5:30 in Beaumont, yet still made time to come to a 2pm funeral in Silsbee to show their respects to my father, was extremely moving to me and my family. It's something that we will cherish forever. I am still overwhelmed! I cannot get that scene out of my mind. I am so looking forward to broadcasting next Tuesday's game!!

You guys do not know how much it meant to me and my family when we looked up and saw the entire Silsbee basketball team walk in the church today for my dad's funeral. We were so overwhelmed!! We were truly blessed! I want to thank Coach Travis Williams, Coach James Collins, Coach Ira Brooks and the Silsbee basketball team for showing their respects for my father, who was one of their best fans and supporters. Ira, I personally want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know that you had a special relationship with my dad and mom and this was tough on you as well. You spent many an afternoon sitting on the swing in my parents front yard talking with my dad. He thought a lot of you and was proud to be your friend. Again, it was very special to have you guys there at the funeral, it really touched our hearts. My mom was really grateful. I had thought I had some control over my emotions until you guys walked in, and that did it for me and everyone else there. I am so proud to be a Silsbee Tiger. My dad is smiling down with joy in his heart. I love you guys and I will never ever forget this.
