Why can't we look forward to those games in district between Silsbee and HF? ;) Silsbee and Ozen been playing each other for years, long before the Doves came aboard. Like I said, he is no JV player, will play and probably start on varsity as soon as he is ruled eligible.

This is easily the smallest team height wise (no player over '6"3, only two '6"2 or better) in the last several years but may be the fastest and quickest team that the Tigers have had in several years. Only two seniors on the squad (Gaines a starter, Turner a reserve), the rest juniors and soph. Silsbee will need to shoot the three ball much better and everyone will need to help out on the boards. Also look for Silsbee to get help from the transfer from Irving McArthur, who is now playing JV ball for Silsbee until he is ruled eligible to play varsity. Silsbee Tiger basketball broadcasts finally gets started tonight as the Tigers travel up to Woodville to take on the Eagles tonight at The Summit, 6:30pm tipoff. Silsbee (2-0), ranked #6 in the latest state 3A poll and #4 in this week's SETXsports poll, started the season with wins over Kelly and PNG. Woodville (0-2), ranked #10 in this week's SETXsports small school poll, started their year with two losses, Buna and last night to WOS, 86-57. Silsbee defeated Woodville both times they faced each other last season. Pregame will start at approximately 6:15pm with tip off to follow at around 6:30pm.
