1. You are on to something there and we are on it. I'll be sending you a pm soon.
 2. Nice to know that Silsbee is not in this conversation. ;) ;D
 3. akifan94, my post was not to defend the coaches and their picks. Just was to clarify how the picks are made and what can be used. I have no answer as to why Nelson did not make 1st team.
 4. Aren't you using my rent property address in Hamshire now instead of the Beaumont address that you all reside in? ;) ;D I help so many. ;D
 5. I agree, Coach Washington should have been COY.
 6.

The coaches make these picks, no media involved. The media does not have an all-district team, only their publication team for the area (All Orange Leader Team, All BE team, ect. ect.) Also, only district games and the stats compiled in those games are used for these picks. No non district or playoff stats are used.
AAW,  according to Coach Faircloth (tonight)  NO STATS were considered in the selections.  It was up to the individual coaches to do research (if they felt like it).  He said that some coaches even submitted receivers with TEN CATCHES!  Now, what coach, with a clear conscious could possibly submit a receiver that caught 1 pass per game???    And the selection of Crouch as COTY, confirms just how asinine this whole process is.
Let me clarify myself. ONLY district games and those stats COULD be used to help determine the all district picks. Non district and playoff games and the stats compiled in those games do not count and cannot be used in determining all district picks. There, is that better? ;D
 7. Two state ranked teams to do battle tonight!! Definitely the game of the night.

 12. What about Dove? He sometimes acts and sounds like he is under 17. ::) ;) ;D This whole subject is pretty lame. Nothing but a personal platform to stand and politic from. Coach Richardson knows what's best for his team. I am quite sure he has a game plan and it's not to just satisfy a few. ;) (of course, you know what they say about the squeeky wheel ;))
 13.
YMBL is becoming a premier small tourney.... I like it.  I wish they would add about 10 more teams but it is cool like it is because of the girls teams!  This Tourny is legit though with the likes of Higtower & Memorial buth really good 5A programs! Kimbal, SOC, Ozen, Ned kare solid 4A programs! And Cleveland and Madison are dominant 3A programs... Looks like fun!
I agree. Great field. Wish my Tigers would have stayed in this tourney. Although, Silsbee is in the Nederland tourney next week and 5 of the top 25 4A teams in the state are in that one, with the top two teams, Galveston Ball and LaMarque being two of them.
 14.
Kountze will win this one going away. It's been a long time since they played in the Evadale tournament.
Long time? ;D Actually, Kountze played in the Evadale tourney last year, defeating Orangefield in the championship game 83-57.

 16.
Silsbee won it last year And I don't really know of anbody that will get in the way of them taking it home again Dayton  ??? New Waverly  ???
I would say Woodville followed by New Waverly, East Chambers and Goodrich as the next best teams behind Silsbee in this tourney. Spurger and Big Sandy will surprise some folks as well.
 17. Cleveland has made it to the Area round the last 4 years in a row. They have won their district the last 3 years straight and got a bye to the Area round.

 24.
Out of roughly 7000 students, there are no kids 6'5" or taller to play basketball?
I thought the post player for Ozen was '6"8? Even so, only one over '6"5 out of that many students is unbelievable. I can count 6 players from Silsbee over the last 7 years that were '6"6 or better.
 25.
I was in Silsbee today. Nice little town. Aggie, I may want to use your address next year ;D
:-X
