2.
You guys are really pathetic. The statements are laughing. Now Lcm is going to be a power house because of some mass exitous from Wos because they would be upset cause Thompson didn't get the job lol. Most of these players didn't like to play for Crouch when he was at Wos, they sure aren't going to follow him to a losing team. These kids grew up dreaming of being a Mustang. I can assure you that many players have been asked about this and most say the same thing and that is they don't care who the coach is,they just want to play ball. So these statements you are making are totally ridiculous and wishful thinking. If anything, alot of players might come back.  Another intimidation tactics no longer work in this country, it just pisses people off and it would e d up hurting your candidate instead of helping. Calling committee members and starting me and other former Mustang's are keeping an eye on folks like you who obviously have a hidden agenda. Todd Broussard are you serious?  Is that yoa threat and who is folks like you?  Yes I called you out. Your gonna say something like this over the phone loud enough for this persons child to hear who's also a mustang player, then your gonna turn around and text this b.s. some of you are losing your minds and if coach T doesn't get the job, you can blame your self.  Kerry you participate in this foolishness, but when your talking to the committee members your totally different. Your in the media, you should know better then involving yourself in these intimidation tactics.  People calling other candidates, trying to intimidate them telling them to drop out is just wrong.  Most of you who are ranting don't even live in this area anymore so you can't do anything about any decision that is made other than cry like some little wimps ...grow up.
Can't wait for the reply. It should be a good one! ;D

Your sources suck media man. But then again..no explanation is owed to you...your not even a longhorn...just a nosey pot stirrer! So that's your last explanation....you'll have to just keep rolling w/ your misinformation and non-credible sources.
If the physician's note never stated that he could not run, then why isn't he running during athletics like the rest of the students? He was walking around the track reading a book while the others were running. You even stated that he would not even walk come Monday, just read his book. If he can't participate during athletics at school because of health reasons, how can he play multiple games this weekend?

 6.
First of all, I could give a rat's rear end who "reports it first."  I'll gladly read it off of website of the Leader, KOGT, the News, the Enterprise, KFDM, KBMT, KBTV, KJAC, KLVI, KSET, the PTA or the USO.   That is a hill of beans to me.  That may be a concern of Mr. Henry's but that is not mine.  My concern, or I guess I should now use the term "cry" is that at this point NOBODY knows.   Nobody knows these candidates even though I have been told by one of the members of the committee that there are "several" that are more qualified than the fan favorite and, admittedly, a favorite of mine.  Nobody knows the candidates in search where the motives of the committee have been questioned, and reasonably so......and not just by those who have decided to air views here in open forum.   There are many amongst the taxpayers who pay Mr. Colbert's salary and will pay the salary of this head coach and athletic direcotr who question the actions to date of this committee.  I have relayed my concerns to Mr. Colbert using my full name and have talked to a member of the committee (although I must say that all I took away from that conversation is that committee member's fondness for the phrase "listen and learn").   Next, this new found sensitivity to the coaching applicants.  Assistant (and even head) coaches applying for positions at others jobs is as age old as the game itself.  Many athletic directors expect it, some encourage it.  Some of the coaches who do so WANT their current district to know...for example when Nederland's Larry Neumann applied for the head coach position at La Marque a few years back.  Do school districts really feel disrespected when coaches in their district apply for other jobs?  Coach Mike Long has found his name in many such published lists and as of last report, he is still at Kelly.  Coach Troy Bolton who as an assistant at LC-M has likewise been on such lists and, according to a questionnaire I hold in my hand filled out by LC-M Athletic Director Randy Crouch, he is still employed by the LC-M CISD.  I find it of note that neither Superintendent Pauline Hargrave of LCMCISD nor Superintendent Phillip Welch of Orangefield ISD saw any problem with immediately releasing the list of applicants the last time an Orange County football head coaching/athletic director position was open.  I guess they were just plain insensitive for feeling that informing the taxpayer public was their duty as heads of their respective school districts.  The excuse that this list is being withheld to protect the applicants is as empty as Mr. Colbert's promise of a transparent process stands at this point.   As to other schools...I think San Augustine was mentioned (although let take this moment to congratulate Coach Hubbard, who managed to escape from George Ranch, where coaches have been known to turn up dead)...well, sorry, I didn't graduate from San Augustine High School, I don't have parents who are residents of that school district and relatives who currently attend that school district so my interest in the Wolves' head coaching position, aside from my tasks here on the site, is limited. If I have a grievance with a process or actions, I will air it using as a shield the very amendment to the U.S. Constitution which allows newspaper editors and reporters, and for that matter any member of the media, to earn a living without fear of reprisal from our governing bodies.  If you find my grievances mislaid, you are perfectly entitled by the same amendment to say so.  Further, people are by no means compelled to read my rubbish if they term it so.  As the standard practice of reading in the civilized world is left to right, that means the first thing you will see is my user name.  For purposes of this issue, you can for the time being assume that every time you see my user name, it will be a post critical of the actions of Mr. Colbert and/or his committee and if that in some way offends, feel free to immediately scroll down to the next post as I know full well why I am "crying."
AMEN, Grad, AMEN!!!!! Excellant post.
 7. Again, errors doomed the Tigers. That is now 18 errors committed by Silsbee in this 3 game losing streak.

 11. We also have another local player (Silsbee player) who is being recruited by McNeese, SFA, and a couple of other SLC schools, but not Lamar.
 12.
Again I ask you, who has come out of this area since Gulley that had his skill set and was not being recruited by UT, OU, or the NBA? You can say all you want, but LU is not going to win a recruiting batle with any of those programs for local talent! We signed the Hardeman (I think that was his name) kid from Silsbee a few years back and he bolted after one good freshman season for Tennessee! Bose - NSU - Australia Clavell - SHSU - Puerto Rico Pratt - NWS - NY, NY Gibson - UTSA - Houston P.Richard - MSU - Carencro, LA Kaplan - MSU - Canada Baker - NWS - NY, NY Watt - AMCC - Chicago M.Johnson - UTSA - Dallas J. Hill - UTSA - Australia This is the list of the top scorers in the league this year. Notice they are all from "afar". Not one home grown talent. Richard would be the closest as Carencro is about 70 miles from LC. UTSA wins the conference and go check their roster, not a lot of kids from SA which has a much larger market than the GT.
The player from Silsbee that you are referring to was Thaydeous Holden. It was my understanding he left Lamar to get away from this area due to him hanging with the wrong crowd. He ended up at University of Tennessee and played well there.
 13. It doesn't matter to me if it had to be posted and it doesn't matter to me how the process works (committee or no committee). Let them do what they have to do to get the best person for the job, which in the end should be CORNELL THOMPSON!!!!! They can do all the hoop jumping they need to do as long as they show that they are smart enough to hire Cornell for the job. Doesn't take a smart person to figure this one out. Hire Cornell now, Toby later= Continued success at WOS

 18. The #18 state ranked Silsbee Tigers will travel down to Bridge City to take on the Cardinals in a crucial 21-3A district matchup, tommorrow night at 7pm. Silsbee (15-3-2, 4-2) #5 SETX, lost for the second straight time in district after starting off 4-0, losing to Orangefield 11-2. Bridge City (12-9, 4-2) #12 SETX, won their 3rd straight in district after losing two in a row, defeating Hardin-Jefferson 10-0. Definitely a case of two teams headed in opposite directions. 23. High School Sports Search              April 12, 2011 Mustangs win 4th straight 21-3A track crown Van Wade The Orange Leader The Orange Leader Tue Apr 12, 2011, 09:55 PM CDT BRIDGE CITY — Chalk up another District 21-3A Track & Field Championship for the West Orange-Stark Mustangs. The Mustangs dominated all the sprints and the relays to capture the school’s fourth consecutive 21-3A title. The Mustang boys won with 181 points while Orange County rival Bridge City placed second in racking up 144 points. WO-S is just another strong regional track meet away from trying to earn its third straight state track title. First things first though, was district. “I couldn’t be happier for our kids,” said an elated WO-S coach Toby Foreman. “We came out here with poise and got all the things that we pretty much wanted to accomplish done. We got the stick around the track and executed well.” The Mustangs ran in uniforms with 112 percent on their sleeves in honor of quarterback Reggie Garrett, who passed away during the football campaign. “Reggie is such a part of what we do still,” said Foreman. “The kids honored him well today with the way they performed. A lot of people remember his as our quarterback but most don’t remember that he finished second in the discus last year as a track athlete.” WO-S won the 400-meter relay in a time of 42.03 seconds with the quartet of Ed Ivory, Justin Thomas, Phillip Jones and Mark Roberts. The four-man WO-S crew of Roberts, Jones, DeCarlos Renfro and Jarodd Ross nabbed the 800-meter relay in 1:29.47 and the foursome of Renfro, Ross, Janice and Derek Ledet won the 1,600-meter relay in 3:27.09. The Mustangs went 1-2-3 in both the sprints. Ivory won the 100 meters in 10.61 followed by Thomas (10.64) and Janice (10.74). Thomas came back to win the 200 meters in 21.88 followed by Ivory (21.98) and Roberts (22.28). Janice also ran a blazing 50.31 to easily capture the 400 meters and Jones, as usual, dominated the 110-meter hurdles in 14.19. The Mustangs have been so impressive the last two seasons. The scary part of the whole deal is that this is the deepest team yet. “We have about seven guys that can run with anybody and that’s a nice commodity to have,” said Foreman. “It’s tough as a coach because we’re fortunate enough to have all of these nice parts and you have to figure out where they fit in certain races.” Going into the district meet, WO-S had the top-rated times in the state in Class 3A in the 400-meter relay, 800-meter relay, 100 meters and 200 meters. The last time WO-S won four straight district meets was from 1993-96. Bridge City’s Kirby Shepherd was golden in two events as the Cardinal distance man won both the 800 meters (1:59.80) and the 1,600 meters (4:50.62). Hamshire-Fannett won the girls division in a tight race. The Lady Longhorns finished with 121 points followed closely by Bridge City (115), Silsbee (111) and Orangefield (108). Bridge City senior Mary Nguyen had a tremendous way to finish up on her home turf as she downed rival Carli Langley of Hamshire-Fannett in the 1,600 meters. Nguyen turned in a time of 5:32.24 while Langley was second at 5:34.38. Langley won the 3,200 meters Saturday with Nguyen finishing second. Lady Cardinal Bree Fontenot continued her dominance in the 400 meters, winning it with a time of 1:00.26. WO-S’ Johnesha Sims, after suffering through a nagging leg injury the last couple weeks, returned in true form by cruising to a 12.14 finish to easily win the 100 meters. Orangefield came away with two first-place finishes. The 1,600-meter relay unit of Hannah Walles, Rebecca Higginbotham, Kasidy Hayes and Vivian Luong won with a time of 4:20.90 and Haley Permenter captured the 300-meter hurdles in 50.30. 21-3A track results BRIDGE CITY  - Here are the results of the District 21-3A Track & Field Championships held at Bridge City High School: GIRLS DIVISION Discus: 1.
