That makes no sense? Why bet on a proven loser?
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe UNLV thinks his ship has come in. He's due! ;) -
I too, like many do not have a dog in the fight, but Coach Isaacs from Spurger would make an excellent choice for HF. He has taken a program that was treading water a few years ago and transformed the Pirates into a state ranked program. He has done it with discipline and hard work. His teams are always prepared and well coached. You have to beat them, they will not beat themselves. They're trip tho Austin and the State Tournament 2 years ago is just one example of his ability to lead a program. And this year, after being hit hard by graduation, he gets the Pirates into the Regional Quarterfinals. I have never spoken to anyone who has anything bad to say about Coach Isaacs. He is fine coach and a better person. My 2 cents.
Could not have said it better myself. Coach Isaacs is a good one and would have my endorsement for the HF job. I believe he would do quite well wherever he goes.

IT'S THEIR JOB. Maturity? Well, even hardened criminals seem to find remorse when it comes time for parole eligibility. If anything, Abatemarco is the "safe" hire given his prior time at LU. The risky hire comes from thinking outside box such as selecting from coaches who have proven they can win consistently with fewer resources. Evans and Cross move up in my book. Oh well; I guess I'm not a "forward thinker". 70-121. 'Nuff said. Move along . . .
I agree. Next!! -

Bridge City at Silsbee predictions

First of all, not upset. Critter, you posted that team speed wins and then post that BC wins 9-2. I post that BC does not have that kind of team speed advantage over Silsbee to result in a 7 run win. Now maybe ;) they have other advantages over Silsbee that would contribute to that notion of a 7 run win, but not just team speed. You asked a question about why Brown was not pitching against BC and I answered it. Pretty simple, no emotions involved here, just logic. If you knew how I post in the other forums you would see that I don't post off of feelings. Just stats, facts and logic. ;) Rake, wasn't posting because I thought Silsbee was getting disrespected, just trying to clarify things. I love confrontations, just ask anyone on this site. ;D -

BC-9 Silsbee-2
??? Silsbee 48 of 52 stolen bases so far on the year. Silsbee's CATCHER is 12 for 12. ;)
Just going with what I've seen.... And remember this is my opinion and not trying to start a argument. I'm not basing that on Stolen bases alone, it's Home to 1st times to. No doubt that Silsbee's catcher is a beast maybe one of the top catchers in the area especially with the bat. I'm just curious why Silsbee didn't save Brown for BC tomorrow?
And I am stating what I have seen. Silsbee can match BC for team speed in however you choose to look at. Silsbee has had plenty of infield singles or has forced hurried throws to first resulting in errors. As for Brown, it's really easy. Brown is on a Friday rotation which allows him to pitch in 6 of the 10 district games. He will face BC at their place in the 2nd half of district. Besides, Scoggins is a very good pitcher himself, 3-0, 1.90 ERA, 31 K's, 8 BB's in 18.1 innings. He will hold is own against BC tomorrow night. -
I got to see game and errors killed the Bobcats. Don't get me wrong Silsbee would've still won but it the score would be 3-0. I don't think the Freshman pitcher (Crain) from OF did a bad job. I was expecting Brown to be more dominate than he was, I think he only had 2 K's maybe 3 not certain without checking the book. But he does have the nicest curve I've seen in a while.
Brown had 7 K's, 3 BB's, 0 runs, 4 hits in 6 1/3 innings. Of the 9 runs scored by Silsbee, 4 were unearned. The line: R H E Silsbee 9 11 2 Oranhefield 0 4 5

That is about one sad list when you look and see maybe 5 people on there that are even worth thinking about. We may have already gone beyond the ability to salvage the program if this is the best we can hope to attract. This is embarrassing. This list shouldn't have been made public.
They had to release this list, it's the law. But this list doesn't mean much. The first applicants are normally the ones that apply for every opening out there. The serious candidates talk to Tubbs and company behind the scenes then apply near the end of process.
Coachacola is dead on! The list will not only grow but get better in quality.
AAW, when is the deadline to apply?
The article states they want to narrow it down to 8-10 by the Final Four. I am thinking this weekend or early next week they will stop taking apps. But, I imagine they will always keep one eye open. ;)
