1. Here are the stats from last night's scrimmage (sorry for the delay): edit: these are only 1st team stats for both teams 12 play controlled scrimmage                               Silsbee                        East Chambers rushing                    6/32 yards                      3/-1 yards passing                2-6- 18 yards                    6-9- 141 yards 2 TD's total                      12/50 yards                    12/140 yards FD                            3                                      6 Two 10 minute live quarters                                 Silsbee                            East Chambers rushing                    11/48 yards  TD                  13/60 yards  TD passing                  11-24- 143 yards  2INT          7-10- 85 yards 1 TD  1 INT total                      35/ 191 yards                      23/ 145 yards FD                            12                                        8 Time of Poss.            9:57                                    10:03 Combined controlled and live scrimmage:                                   Silsbee                                East Chambers rushing                      17/80 yards TD                          16/59 yards  TD passing                    13-30- 161 yards 2 INT            13-19- 226 yards  3 TD's  INT total                          47/241 yards  TD                    35/285 yards  4 TD's FD                                15                                            14 East Chambers first play in the 12 play controlled scrimmage was a pass to Roberts in the flat that he turned into a 70 touchdown pass play. This pretty much set the tone for the rest of the scrimmage. East Chambers played very well and executed much better than Silsbee. I was impressed with East Chambers on both sides of the ball. Silsbee was very flat, particularly in the controlled section. When they went to the live 10 minutes quarters, the Tigers picked up the pace some. Their first possession was an 11 play 70 yards scoring drive that took 4:15 off the clock. It was the longest time consuming drive for either team. Silsbee mixed the run with the pass very well in that drive (8 rushes, 3 passes). After that, Silsbee was all about the pass. The Tigers only rushed the ball 3 times the rest of the night while attempting 21 passes, completing just 8 of them. A total of 13-30 passing is not going to make Silsbee successful in any game or scrimmage. It was a good scrimmage overall. East Chambers proved they are a team to be reckoned with and fully intend to defend their district crown. For Silsbee, it's a wake up call, particularly from last week's success against Newton. Silsbee has many things to work on in preparation with their game next week against PNG.
 2. It's been a long day for me. I will post complete stats of this scrimmage in the morning. I will make these couple of comments. East Chambers out played, out performed and out coached Silsbee tonight. Just that simple. After seeing Newton and Kirbyville last week and East Chambers tonight, it's quite obvious to me who has the best team of the three. East Chambers will win district! I will post stats and make some more detailed comments of this scrimmage in the morning.
 3. :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8) ??? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-\ :-* :'( <<<<<<<<<<<<<
 4.
Yea they got there at the mid point of the basketball season
Correct. Started playing for Kountze in January after sitting out the required number of days. The Harper kid's dad is a coach at Kountze. He was there last year.
 5.
Kountze @ Evadale... jv starts at 5... varsity starts 6 or 6:30
Is this a Thursday or Friday scrimmage? Also, thought this scrimmage was in Kountze.
From the megatropolis that is Chester, 1982 graduate Bo Stanley.  He was a beast in every sport, and was a senior when I was freshman.
I know Bo very well, were neighbors here in Silsbee for several years, played softball together. He was a great athlete. Can't fish worth a lick. ;) ;D
 8.
Newton can't be THAT tough if Silsbee totally dominated them the way they did...    ::)
Silsbee would handle the Wildcats as well.

This team is gonna be hard to beat this year.
Not from what I saw at their scrimmage last Saturday. ;) ::)
The bet is still on right??
Of course. Kirbyville goes undefeated in district, you win $100. They lose just one game, I win $100.

Too many teams. Chambers: BH, Anahuac, EC Liberty: Liberty, Dayton, Cleveland, Hardin, Hull Daisetta Hardin: Lumberton, Silsbee, Kountze, H-J Orange: BC, WOS, Vidor, LCM Jasper: Buna, Kirbyville, Jasper, Evadale Newton: Newton, Deveyville, Burkeville Tyler: Warren, Woodville, Colmesneil So thats the mental Mapquest in my head. Could very well have omissions and/or errors. Please correct! Apologies for whatever I missed.
Orangefield is in Orange county as well.  In the early 2000s I know that OF, BC, WOS and LCM all made the playoffs in the same season, just don't remember the exact year.  Don't know if there has ever been a year when all 5 OC schools made the playoffs.
If i am correct Orange county had 5 out of 6 teams last year with Vidor, WOS, BC, and WOS making and only LCM missing it last year. That's pretty close.
Orange County only has 5 teams, not 6. Bridge City LCM Orangefield Vidor WO-S 3 of the 5 made the playoffs last year.
 12. Okay, enough with the government talk. We have a forum for that.
 13.
This is Coach Williamson with High Island ISD.  We are not closing any athletic programs here at High Island.  We actually have added a JV schedule for this year in football.  Both girls and boys programs  are up in numbers as far as participation.  If you don't have the facts, call the school (409) 286-5317 or myself (409) 599-4802.  Rumors only hurt the kids and the community. Thanks and God Bless, Brent Williamson Athletic Director/Head Football High Island ISD
Thank you Coach Williamson for clearing this up. It is greatly appreciated.
 14.
Or High Island decided to go somewhere else for officials!
;)
 15. [Hidden Content] Problem is, the district 11-3A committee has disqualified Prime Prep from participating in any district game in all sports. Saw this coming from the start.
 16. In the case of Silsbee High School, it would either be James Hunter or Artie Shankle. My vote would probably be Shankle since he was all district in football, basketball, baseball and district track champion in some events. There is an argument for Hunter who was all state in football, helped lead his basketball team(was all district as well) to the state tourney (so did Shankle) and was a great track star in multiple events. Hunter went on to Grambling to become an All-American and play 8 seasons in the NFL. Also of note, Desmond Doss is still the only athlete in school history to be district MVP in both football and basketball. He accomplished this back in the '04-'05 season, Silsbee's first as a 3A school.
 17.
Not I man! Don't camp out for kicks no more. Some guys broke into GreensPoint Mall last night thru the roof and tried to steal 45 pair. If you are a shoe collector like me, there some websites that release these shoes a few months earlier. I always purchase any pair of Jordans I want this way. You may pay a extra 80-100 but it's better than getting up at 3am to go stand in line or try calling in to Eastbay to get them.
It's better not to purchase them at all. ::) $315 sneakers? No thank you.
 18. Football season is here. What has been done and what needs to be done for us to be ready?
 19.
PNG?
Not best.
 20. Tiger Stadium does not need a "jumbotron". Frivolous. Rather see that money spent on necessary needs. Besides, if you get a "jumbotron", you would want to use it to it's maximum capabilities and that would involve having a minimum of 3-5 people operating it, maybe more. Take it from me (a person that is in the press box at every home game), Silsbee has trouble getting someone to run the scoreboard on a regular basis and also there is really no room in the press box for a crew to run the "tron". Turf? Yes. Jumbotron? NO!!
