It's very tough for a freshman to lead juniors and seniors on the football field. The QB position is all about leadership.

I think if anyone can develope a QB it would be him. I do think he needs to decide who he is going to go with and stick with him. I do not think a 2 QB system will work in HS FB. Other Teams will be to quick to pick up on your tendacies. As for HF defense I think they did a good job of staying motivated, being they stayed on the field most of the game. I will say that the defense does not do a very good job of tackling. There were quite a few big runs that should have been stopped for a loss or a minimal gain, too many arm tackles. Just because we lost our first game to what many percieve was a sub par team does not mean the season is doomed. They just need to learn from this and get back to work and get motivated. As a Senior, If lettting a Freshman take your job does not motivate you then I am not sure anything will. I was disappointed in the overall lack of enthusiasm from the players, student body and our fans for that matter. I broadcast this game. AJ did just fine. He took what the defense gave him in the first half, both running and passing. Silsbee's defense made the adjustments needed in the 2nd half and stepped up their game. Still, AJ's team won the game. It is certainly not fair to judge after just one game.

The Enterprise is not the best source. I get 21-3A stats straight from the district statistician. He gets all his stats straight from the coaching staffs in 21-3A.

[/quote] I saw King play last year as an 8th grader. Very impressive! Never, ever did I think he would be the starting QB on varsity as a freshman. Really not sure what to think of this move. Certainly there is more to this that meets the eye. :-\

That's the problem, you will not find complete and accurate stats anywhere for all the teams in the SETX area. It would be a nightmare trying to do a high school fantasy league. Too many teams and too many players for any local source to have complete stats on every player. Grad can attest, he tries to get stats on as many players in our coverage area, but sometimes hits dead ends. Just the nature of the beast. You might could do it if you limit the league just to 20-4A teams, PAM, West Brook and maybe 21-3A teams. But that's it. If I were to play, I would want to be able to have the opportunity to have players in the 2A and 1A ranks, like Glenn Roberts of East Chambers and Justine Twine of Hemphill. Good luck in your quest but just can't see how the league would work without having definite and accurate stats to score on.
