Hoping he gets well soon. (but wouldn't hurt my feelings if he was to wait till after the Lions play Silsbee to get back on the field ;))
3. I think you Kountze guys are acting just like these HD guys. ;) You both are pretty overbearing.  ::) Neither of your teams have beaten a quality opponent so it's comical how each of you are bragging so much. Get a grip!
4.

According to this site: [Hidden Content] it was about 13.3 million. Based on the USA Today information (provided by the various schools) the Sun Belt and WAC are the only two conferences in FBS that Lamar could hope to compete in financially. While the budget would compete with the bottom (financially) of the conferences they would be nowhere near the top. Lamar wouldn't have the smallest budget in FBS but they would be near the bottom. To legitimatly go FBS and hope to really compete financially and on the field, Lamar would need to at least double and preferably triple its budget. The highest percentge subsidies of athletic budgets are in FBC, but on average the largest $ amount subsidies are FBS schools in nonautomatic BCS qualifying conferences (USA Today). Lamar's subsidy is already at 70%+. That could only get higher. I'm all for going FBS if it makes sense, but we need to find a chunk of money somewhere first. Being a dreg in the FBS gets you no more respect than being in the FCS and the SLC. The only reason for a move to FBS at this point would be a vain attempt to sooth feelings of FCS/SLC inadequacy. If you know where Lamar could pick up another $20 mil a year then lets go for it ...
Lamar does not need $20 million to compete in the lower FBS conferences; CUSA, SBC, or MWC.Although $20 million would be nice...Lamar only need an extra $4 million for SBC or 7-10 million to compete regularly in a CUSA or MWC. Ark st is doing fine in the SBC with only a 15 million budget. Also, in the case of the MWC, this move would benefit Lamar basketball far more than football.
True, but football is the driving force in just about everyone's athletic budget.

11. I guess I will finally post my thoughts on this game. It's very simple, Silsbee catches the ball, they win, maybe by 2 TD's. I was really impressed with the halftime adjustments that Silsbee DC Coach Hickman made. Silsbee shut down PNG in 2nd half, limiting them to just 50 yards of offense after giving up 160 in first half. Great job. Silsbee offensively kind of sputtered in first half but give credit to PNG defense. Indians played pretty sound defense and put an emphasis on containing the outside and not letting the Tiger speed hurt them. In the second half, Silsbee moved the ball much better but like I posted, several key dropped passes basically took this win away from the Tigers, even though they had a shot at winning had they converted the two point conversion. Reed's numbers will look bad, but the 2nd half was not on him. The pass protection was very good in the 2nd half. As for the officials, I only had a problem with one certain official, the back judge. He was the worst I have ever seen. There should have been at least 4 pass interference calls (3 against PNG, 1 against Silsbee). The sad thing is, he was no more than 10 yards from each play and still couldn't throw the flag on the obvious penalty. Two of those calls would have seriously changed the shape of this game. I loved how the Tigers showed some heart and determination in not giving up after being down 22-6, particularly after that last PNG score. That was a 14 point swing as Silsbee was inside the PNG 15 but couldn't score and the Indians went down and scored on next possession. Silsbee will be fine. Just have to execute much better on the passing game.

13. 9:07 left Coppell              41 Longview            2
14. Final Lamar          0 ULL            40 Scoreless 2nd half for both teams. Good news, bad news. Lamar held ULL 2nd team scoreless, but Lamar could not score on ULL 2nd team defense.
15. Also, according to reports, Coppell is playing this game without 6 starters. :o
16. 2:40 left in 3rd Coppell                34 #9 Longview          2
17.
Lobos starting QB is out. Coppell taking advantage
A Lobo tweet stated possible torn ACL.
18.
21 to 0. KP demming 35 yard run. 4:26 to go in 3rd.
Uh, updating this thread isn't necessary anymore. It was needed last night for the person who posted the thread because he needed scores during his radio broadcast of the Crosby/Nederland game. You can start a thread posting updates of the Kingwood Park/Channelview game.
19. 10:15 left in 3rd Coppell          28 #9 Longview    0
20. A victory for Lamar!!!!! end of 3rd Lamar      0 ULL        40
21. Lamar doing much better against the ULL 2nd teamers. Already halfway thru the 3rd quarter and score still 40-0.
22. Tweet from LU beat writer: Christopher Dabe ‏@cmdabe The second-half vs. 2nd-string ULL players is about learning the new systems, executing. Lamar might not be out-muscled, outpaced I agree with this statement.
23. 2nd half underway Lamar has ball to start 2nd half. I say a win for the Cards is a 10-10 tie in the 2nd half.
