Practice hard play hard, practice soft play soft.
So if team A 1st team scores 4 TD's on team B's 1st team (team B's 1st team does not score), but team B's 2nd team scores 5 TD's against team A's 2nd team (team A 2nd team does not score), with all this done in a "controlled, set amount of plays, no kicking game" scrimmage, it's deemed that team B "wins" the scrimmage? smh  ::)
 2.
Hey aggies, kountze might have been 2-5 but 3 of those losses were from a combined 9 points and against ec which was a 35-7 loss, kountze put the ball inside the 5 yard line 4 times but had no line to get the extra push to put it in the endzone. Dont know what games you watched last year if any but your making assumptions from a record.
To quote recent HOF coach Bill Parcells, "You are what your record says you are." ;)
Come Friday night scrimmage with West Orange If we Win the scrimmage so be it, the main thing Neumann is looking for putting the folks in the positions for the games that do count. He can't get that right if winning a scrimmage is first priority.
No one wins scrimmages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I told you Fran, I dont care where everyone else falls, HJ will be 1 or 2 when the dust settles. Who does BucNasty pull for????? Is he one of these "humble" Silsbee fans? Thats a guy I would like to have in my fanbase... NOT!!!!
And if HJ doesn't finish 1st or 2nd in district this season, will it be the coaches fault?
 7. Saying they treating players like pieces of meat and would get beat by 14U teams wouldn't be something I would think an alum would be doing.
I'm not talking down on Silsbee. That's in general around here... So many HS coaches use the kids instead of get them prepared for college. And about the 14U teams beating Silsbee, I'm not taking anything away from Silsbee... But I'm honest... There are 14U teams that would compete in our district... It's irrevelant but it's true.
Is there any chance that you havent been "at this" long enough to honestly know the differences between Silsbee/HJ/WOS compared to 14 year old AAU teams?
BINGO!!!!

 9. and please, please, please, please!!!!!! For the one millionth time, no wins or losses in these scrimmages!!
 10. I see them finishing T-2nd with HJ. Those two will split their district games. 1. WO-S T-2 HJ T-2 Silsbee 4th Buna
 11.

The speed of the game will not be a factor for McCain. He didn't just play middle school ball. He played in 74 games with me this year since Feb. against some of the best teams. He will be ready for the speed of the game.
But you can't compare playing against 14 yr old on the AAU circuit to play against 17 an 18 yr old that always a big Difference especially the style Silsbee play of a non stop running  :o got dizzy thinking bout them running
Yes you can... The teams in this district this year, absolutely. I'm not sure if you understand AAU basketball or not, but we played against teams that would finish top three in this district as a 14U team. What do you think AAU basketball consist of? Running running running... Plus most 14U teams are actually 15 because they were held back or failed. If your telling me that the top 14 and 15 year old teams can not be compared to HJ, WOS, HF, Silsbee, Buna, OF, BC... Your out your mind.
So you are saying that some of the aau 14u teams would beat either HJ, Silsbee or WO-S this season, or two of three, or all three? I am not buying that and yes, I have seen aau games. I believe the experience of the players and the coaching on the sidelines would be too much for those 14u teams. I'd be willing to bet all three of those coaches (Sigler, Sutherland, Wilkes) would have a definite advantage over the opposing aau coach. ;) You giving aau too much credit in this situation. McCain will definitely be a varsity player this year and will get plenty of playing time (may even start a few games while the football players are still in playoffs), but don't see him being a regular starter this year. Next year and beyond, he will be the man.
 12. Kountze was 2-5 in district last season. Now some say they will be at least 5-2 and maybe 6-1? Hmmmmmm..... We will see.  ;) I got them finishing 4th, making the playoffs.
 13.
I also heard he wasn't playing football
Not too happy about that. :(
 14.
I think Thomas should be in the starting 5
Me too.
Do they play their home games at the Educational Center by Ford Arena?
No. Kelly has it's own football stadium on their campus.

They are so use to going in reverse on the win columns a win could close cown the town for a month! The silsbee game is in silsbee too? Could get ugly fast and be over by end of 1St qtr.
Seems like every time you post. You show your knowledge of thefine game of football.
Yes and everytime you post I skip from reading. There you go!
Well quit spitting stupid every time you post.
AMEN!!!

Coach Sigler does rotate some starters. I see a lot of match up that coach will have with this years team. Reed, Elam, Jackson should be every game starter. Hardeway, Grubbs, Brooks, Jenkings, Haynes, Wallace, and McCain should get a lot of playing time and a chance to start. I wish McCain was playing football!!!
I wish they were also, BUT like I told them.. If they don't want to, then don't. If a kid don't wanna play football, don't force them 2. That's how injuries happen! He was a very good football player but said he wants to focus on his dream. Basketball.. Can't be mad at a kid for that
Can't be mad at the kid, but can be mad at the one who is influencing the kid to make those decisions. ;) :-X
You mean the touch football game the day before school got out?  I don't know about what kind of football they play at Central, but I don't think anyone from Nederland would call that a real football game.  Let it go.
If there was a 'game' to be played, someone could have opted to participate in spring practices like other schools did, and then have a big spring game(tackling and all)  and invite all fans, media, and parents....but it's all water under the bridge now.  Or is it?  ;)
As long as you keep bringing up this nonsense, it isn't. ::) Talk about a broken record. Start calling you Buddy.

Inteligent, bright young man, he and his brother! They both are very atheletic and could raise eyebrows on the football or track if they wanted! I'm impressed with this kids basketball IQ and ability to get his shots off anywhere on the floor! As he improves his first step (which is pretty good) and matures into the leadership role on his team, he & his brother can very well lead there team to state! Jared sometimes get's over-shadowed but works hard defensively & knocks down big shots, a solid ball player! Very good students as well, parents are proud of them I'm sure, they did a good job raising them!
All the credit goes to Mammagotjuice
and the early coaching from the Hamshire-Fannett staff. They set the foundation.
I gotta agree, his middle school coaches in the 7th and 8th grade were very positive and fair coaches. We will never know about high school ;)
The middle school coaches got their instructions from the high school head coach at the time.
That could not be true! The high school guard stopped his dribble when he was defended coming down on a fast break.  Our middle school guards went around the defense and created mix matches on fast breaks.
It's true.
