  3. They stormed the field because it was an historic win for the program. It was the program's 500 win which elevated them to being the winningest football program in the state of Texas for winning percentage, all classification.
  4. Here is my answer to the question: Can they? Yes. Will they? No.
  5. I've received a few private messages asking me to put out a list. No way Jose!!! Teams? Yes. Players? No thanks
  6. But he did start for Texas State at QB just this past season. Just answering your question. Your memory seems to be worse than you thought or it is obviously biased towards anything Silsbee which we all know.
  7. Correct
  8. Texas State is a D-1 school. Therefore just this past two seasons Silsbee QB Willie Jones was the starting QB at Texas State.
  9. Young man suffered some injuries that ended his playing career. Also made the decision for him to not pursue a college football career. He has a great job here locally and is doing well. How about we move on? Subject is kind of irrelevant these days. Except for ones who want to poke fun at his expense.
  10. Not to mention he is top 5 in his class at Nederland. Zero issues getting qualified academically
  11. I agree. How about we not put so much undue pressure on these kids? Stating this particular group will be just as good or better than this past group that just graduated is a bit unfair.
  12. I can officially state that I will be back as full time broadcaster for Silsbee football starting in the fall.
  13. One other "returnee" from a couple years ago. I am officially back as the "voice of the Tigers". Will be broadcasting Silsbee football full time in the fall.
  14. Every player state rankings list I have seen has Hefner top 20. That includes Hicks and Doug Jones. Highest I have seen Harrison is like 55. Going by the offers alone, Hefner is by far the best in the area.
  15. The summer play where these guys face much tougher opposition is used in ranking the players. High school play has very little to do with these rankings. IMO, summer play is about the individual player. High school ball is about the team. So when ranking a player, i will side with the experts (aka TexasHoops, Jim Hicks, Doug Jones, etc) who see these players much more than on Tuesday and Friday nights.
  16. [Hidden Content] According to these rankings, there are 5 local players ranked ahead of Harrison.
  17. QB for Silsbee that year was Jasper Lewis. William Graham was the tailback and Robert "Poochie" Arline was the fullback.
  18. If it's about head to head, then why didn't he win it his senior year? Mustangs beat the Tigers that year as well but a Tiger won WRS that year.
  19. I am a WRS voter and to my knowledge there has never been a back to back winner. My problem with some of the voters in this situation was they used a certain criteria to vote for Jack his junior year but chose not to use that same criteria his senior year.
  20. I was at that game. Bishop never left the field. He was QB on offense, safety on defense, kicker and punter and returned punts and kickoffs. He literally never left the field.
  21. If he was the clear choice that year, why wasn't he the clear choice the following year when HE won state that year as well?
  22. Thomas Had 74 total TD's (rushing and passing) total offense of over 5000 yards in one season. All Silsbee records (also pass attempts, completions, TD's passes, passing yards for a season)
