I haven’t read where any posts were directed negatively towards the kids or coaches. AAW or myself would have deleted those post(s) immediately. 

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Ch Chu was making references to the fans on this board who were predicting a Kountze win and some predicting a large margin.  
Since I haven’t lived in the area in over ten years, this was the first time I’ve been in the OF gym to watch the boys play in probably a good 10+ years. The game was awesome! Both teams played really well and with great sportsmanship. I hope I can be at next one between the two.  
 

Just because the kids are better at basketball, doesn’t mean it’s not still a poor district.  And for me, it’s more the kind of music than the sound system anyway.  And if that didn’t make me sound old enough, it IS too loud for me, even if it was music I actually enjoy.  But that’s just the way it is most places now days I suppose.  On the up side, come to Lamar games. They’re still rocking YMCA and Cotton Eyed Joe 😂🤣

Coach Whitmire informed me of that last night before the game. 
I told him he had to make amends for that only loss. Otherwise his team was bringing down the program.
I believe he did just that.

After the districts are revealed, we will post what districts we will be covering here on the site for the next two years.

So Lamar men's basketball is now 11-9 and 5-2 in conference.
Hardly the same team from the last two seasons. But only an idiot would say something like that.
 

Lamar beats SE LA 74-64 at home...now 5-2 in conference play.
Next game Monday at home against New Orleans.
Really like that little guard Pryor.

That’s because you find the most negative thing in every situation.  They went 2-27 two years ago, 9-22 last year.  This year they’re 9-9 after 18 games, and 3-2 in conference (one basket away from 4-1) after going 5-13 last year.  I struggle to understand how someone can look at those results and not note the vast improvement from year to year, but only find things to complain about.  

Brooks has been a disappointing hire to say the least. He had a poor record in Houston in the mid 90s. He seems like a good assistant but not head coaching material.
I've had nothing but good things to say about Tic in his Lamar days. They threw him in when Knight had the team all messed up and you can tell the man knows his stuff.
The sooner the AD moves on to a new hire the better for Lamar. Since Pat Foster left in '86 it's pretty much been 40 years of nothing but futility.

Depending on the definition of "decent," I would say UTSA has the potential to be decent.  I watched both of the games with the Roadrunners, and they have some talent.  I thought they were pretty poorly coached.  It amazes me how virtually no adjustments are made in game.
And I was lambasted on here for defending Tic during his last season.  The Cards won two conference tournament games that year, one against a good Sam team before losing to Abilene Christian who went on to beat UT in March Madness.  For those keeping track, we haven't been back to a conference tournament since, after back to back last place conference finishes.
I stand by my statement that Coach Price was the third best coach in Lamar basketball history since the Pecker Tech days, behind the obvious two legends.  Of course, the great Marco Borne saw fit to fire the man (the day after telling him he would get to coach the last year of his contract).  In fairness, Borne did so on his way to rehab so who knows what his mindset was.  Needless to say, ended up being a final parting gift as he promptly followed Tic out the door after making a final hire or two.  Good news is I am fully confident our current AD.  

Interesting notes, former NBA great Reggie Theus coaches Bethune Cookman and my all time favorite author, John Feinstein is the color guy for Longwood basketball. 

Agreed.  Tic didn’t deserve the treatment he got.  But I’m not sure Marco did anything well in his short tenure as AD.  I am hoping this is the year they figure it out. A guy can hope lol

Yeah Lamar never lead this game and at  it was 67-48. with 7:36 to play.
I wish the program all the luck in the world but I am still disappointed the way Tic Price was treated. As I posted below Tic is back in administration with the Southland Conference.
I believe to be successful again Lamar will need to take a new approach to hiring the next head coach. 12-50 record since Alvin came on.

United missed alot of 3s. I dont understand why they take so many jumpers when they can get the ball to the hole.

This is definitely uncharted waters for BU.  Getting swept by someone in district with the strong possibility of not winning district…. Gotta tip my hat to these Atascocita Eagles.  We hope for a chance to play them again for all the marbles…

Maybe if they meet again in the playoffs the third time will be the charm for BU.
