  1. Could probably say one of the best high school athlete to come out of SETX, but will need to see how does later for overall. If acting counted, we would have to consider Bubba Smith Here is a good list for the state for sports figures (not athletes) through 1999. [Hidden Content]

  5. No way you can give up 103 and still win. Whoops. Congrats. I hope to sneak away and see them in San Antonio. Good luck.
  6. if you freeze the second angle at .1 the foul has occurred before the end of the game.
  7. Last night was the first time I got to see Silsbee this year. I hope their few lapses in defense were due to playing a lessor team. They will need to shore this up in Huntsville. I enjoyed how quickly they answered made baskets with a layup on the opposite end. Bush played great, as I expected, but I was impressed by Chris Martin on both ends of the court. Good Luck, and I hope you have 4 more wins in you.
  8. On close plays like this your eyes can let you see what you want to see sometimes. My first view, looked like an obvious shooting foul. In that point of the game the ref knows the time and the shooter will be trying to get a shot off. The shot starts when the player begins the motion which habitually precedes the release of the ball. Looking at it later with the view of thinking he pumped faked and lost control, then I see it differently and it was a common spot foul. But I only see this view when looking it from a biased perspective. Close call that if I'm coaching, I'm arguing my side pretty strongly. It looks like the ref went for the pump fake and started signally 3 point attempt too early. That shouldn't of swayed him, but experience tells me it does sometimes.
  9. Will have a big drop next year, but should still be top 2 in district. Freshman class is very athletic, but with many playing multiple sports you don't know who will continue playing. Very good 7th grade player in the pipeline who may be our next superstar. She is the best ball handler I've seen since Pennee Hall in the girls program. She probably could provide good minutes on most Varsity teams now.
  10. Collier had 52 points in the win. [Hidden Content]

  14. It's in their student handbook on the high school webpage. ___ Guidelines for Early Graduation Guidelines have been established to provide the opportunity for a qualified student to attempt to graduate one year early. A student interested in early graduation should apply during his ninth grade year. Administrators and counselors will give careful consideration to the student’s readiness. Criteria to be considered will include state assessment scores, academic achievement record, attendance, etc. The student must follow the state recommended or distinguished achievement graduation plan. Information from the student, the parents, and guidance office records will be used to assist in the decision-making process, and a possible three-year plan will be developed. With the approval of the principal and the permission of the parents, the student will enter the early graduation program by August before the tenth grade year. 1. The student must take required courses on the Port Neches-Groves High School campus except for Algebra I courses taught at Port Neches Middle School and Groves Middle School. No required courses may be taken at another campus or at summer school unless the course was failed at the Port Neches-Groves High School campus. 2. The student must take English II and English III during the tenth grade year. 3. Two social studies courses must be taken during the tenth or eleventh grade year. 54 4. The student may take two elective courses away from the Port Neches-Groves High School campus only with the advanced approval of the high school principal. These two elective credits may be earned through correspondence school, college, or university campuses. 5. The PSAT, SAT, or ACT should be taken before the tenth grade. The decision to pursue the three-year graduation plan should be made only after careful consideration. Both parents and students should be aware that a series of choices will be necessary in this plan, since the student will miss some of the normal and natural experiences of the regular four-year high school program. In addition, the condensed time framework may not be conducive to a particular individual’s learning. These factors should be weighed carefully before a student applies to enter the early graduation program.
  15. This score is more surprising than the Humble/Crosby game.
