Damn Bedelom did you say Silsbee smells like Cabage? This coming from a guy whos team for the 1st time in color Tv era had a winning record. The people of Sour Lake are privilege enough to just now get dial up internet and fresh drinking water. The football stadium at HJ could be mistaken for a recycling yard!

Both offensive look good for a first scrimmage. Both defensive need work. As far as the two QB's from Silsbee, they split time with the first team in the first series. Thomas took the first five plays that resulted in a TD. Partain took the next seven plays. Both did a good job in moving the offense. I liked the Soph QB flow and timing. Both QB's making it hard for coaches to pick a starter. That's a good thing. I also like that tall QB from Lumberton, he has a nice touch.

Good to hear Thomas getting the chance to lead the Tigers. Good kid.

I don't have any favs,but I went & saw the scrimmage.Both defenses need more work.Lumberton & Silsbee starting qb's I thought threw the ball rather well.What I didn't get to see was any QB run options.Silsbee had more size on the O/L than Lumberton.Silsbee had more team speed.Both secondaries missed assignments.Alot more passing than running.Both sides had fumbles/ints.Overall both teams to me wasn't alot of differance enuff to say any team dominated the other.I believe both sides saw room for improvement in all areas.It was alot of fun to see action vs another for the 1st time this year.I'd rate the scrimmage as a + for both squads,a few stood out as solid playmakers.Hope both have success in the coming weeks.The Winner was every kid that went out for football.Nice crowd today

Always a good game.  Looking forward to getting back into those cozy concrete seats in Orange and watching these two go at it.  

Got a good report today. Dr. said he is stable and the antibiotics are working. May be able to bring him home as early as Friday.... He actually got up and walked down the hallway this morning with his dear ol dad... Thank you all for the well wishes, he is not out of the woods yet but two days of good reports after 5 days of bad news is awesome...

Look forward to hearing about HJ beating some people this year! Good to all you good people in Sour Lake. Been a while since you have had back to back winning seasons. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. He actually had another surgery Friday night to remove the mesh. They are leaving the wound completely open to heal from the inside out. When they pull the gause out to change it, they have to give him morphine because the pain is so severe... That happens 2 times per day. Dr. checked him today and they are going to have to go back in tonignt to clean the would because the infection is still present. He is having a rough go of it, and they are saying he will be there at least till next weekend... Thanks again for the prayers, he needs them...

Hey Fran, he was doing fine until yesterday. Running fever and had to take him back to the hospital. He has an infection. They admitted him and are running iv antibiotics through him for the next 3 days. If it doesnt clear up, they will have to go back in and take the mesh out, let it heal completely, then go back and put in another type of mesh... Sucks... He wants to be with his team and its hard on him. Coach Dubois brought about 5 or 6 of his teamates out to see him last night... Pretty awesome guy.. In other news, the Hawk defense looks so good this year, its friggin insane!!!

Anyone know how edelmon's son came out of surgery? Have not seen him on here in awhile.

IMO, this was something that wasn't needed. if you win and win big, the kids will get noticed. no need to "beg or buy" for attention. if you are good they WILL come(scouts).

I can assure you that I keep up with high school football in this area just a tad. It was a mistake that I caught after it went to print, there will be a correction in tomorrow's paper. I acknowledged it when I caught it last night and this morning.
 
It was a mistake, that was it. I went back over to Central to clear things up with Coach Foreman and he said, "If that's the worst name I'm called this season, I did a good job."
