Yes.  And the coach should've known his/her players' grades as well.  Especially if it was the end of the grading period.

Before we lay complete blame on the school, what about the student/athlete that actually failed? Shouldn't she know if she failed or not and not risk the team?

All that is.. Is someone not doing their job and being lazy.... Sad for the girls that have worked hard this season

Just like to see a good CLEAN competitive game. If Silsbee wins... its an upset. If we get blown out by 3 TD ... lets just be thankful their not in our district

As far as rivals go, Silsbee has one. Jasper
WO-S is not a rival.

In Silsbee's case this season, they really had no choice in having the WO-S game as it's homecoming game. Silsbee has only 4 home games this season (actually 3 due to Harvey). Week 1 had PN-G coming to town. No one has homecoming in week 1. Week 5 is WO-S. Week 9 and Week 11 are Bridge City and Cleveland. The school district didn't want to wait that long in the season for homecoming (Oct. 27 & Nov. 10). The BC game is Middle School night and Pink Out. Cleveland game is Senior night. So really the WO-S game was the only reasonable choice.
But, as for Silsbee Homecomings go, it's never been about the opponent. It's always been about what date on the schedule works best for the school and the community.

That cheap shot isn't football in any shape or form. Silsbee head coach stated that himself.

Stop trolling and drop it already ... The kid messed up and Silsbee is taking care of it.. 

I don't consider WO-S nor Silsbee dirty teams.
But, I have seen dirty plays from a Mustang player or two, so don't get all high and mighty.

i just think it is funny people are making all state in position they never played or played only a couple times all year. WOS best offensive player did not even make the list?

This is a good topic ! My son and I are new to this recruiting, he's a 2019 LHP sits 85-88 consistently and has gotten a lot of looks and summer coaches have called him to let him know a few D1 coaches want him to contact them and he has and they have watched him, but the kid gets frustrated when they tell him you looked good but we want to watch you a couple of more times and I think I understand what there wanting to see but to a kid he doesn't ....especially when he's pitched well and velocity was up! I do agree it's all about timing and being at the right place at the right time! But when my son sees others getting scholarship offers that he knows his velocity and control is better than he just doesn't understand and I try and tell him , that kid may have had a good day in front of the right person! Anyway thanks for the info this helps!

I think that's a lot about timing. There's only so much money to give out and a lot times seems like they are trying to fill spots they lost. Its a grind, none of it is easy. Grades make a big difference also (really helps). We were blessed to be put in the right spot at right time with our summer ball team. Our coaches on the Gladiators did an outstanding job getting kids looked at. And if I'm correct every kid got an offer to play at the next level. Just have to keep working and push to get better. Sounds like your on the right track!!!!

BC's Schuyler Thibodaux has committed to continue his baseball career for the McNeese State Cowboys.  Very much deserved.  Keep working hard kid.

WOS ... lost a lot and a good coach ... it will take a few years for them to rebuild. Jasper will be very good.. Do not know much about Kirbyville.. In 4A ball the team to beat will be BC as much as it stings to say that ... but Silsbee has a lot returning also ...
