I heard that Memorial didn't bring consistent pressure until the second half.  They means they played laced defense in the first half.  AND Nederlands star player's 3 points were 3 free throws.  No FG's...

Awful night offensively for Nederland. Hefner had 4 points, all from the foul line. The Titans did a great job of making Hefner pass the ball and bottling him up all night. He did not attempt but a handful of shots. Ned played a good first quarter and trailed 10-8, but went ice cold the rest of the game. The Titans are very impressive and their size athleticism dominated Ned all night long.

  2. I wish RaiderGirl could have seen the refs in this game. They were horrible on both ends. The worst call was late in the Game PNG got called for a foul. Ned was up 4 points I think. The ref sends the NHS shooter to the line and says “2 shots” before the free throw attempt. NHS player misses the FT and nobody moves because everyone thought it was 2 shots. He realizes at that point he had made a mistake and it should have been a 1 and 1. Instead of re-shooting the free throw or awarding the ball to the possession arrow(NHS), he just awards the ball to PNG with no explanation. PNG goes down and scores a quick basket. Luckily for the Dogs, this and several other really bad calls did not decide the outcome of the game. The refs sprinted to the locker room after the buzzer.

I would hope so as I've said previously on this post.  He's just not there yet which is contradictory to what you say. But whatever.  There's another game looming with another member of the big 3, where another subpar outing will happen. And don't get me started on the season finale they may determine the last playoff spot...

I'm done here.  I'll weigh in next time to my pleasure and to your sorrow.

    Au revoir.

He had 23 and 20 in the two games vs Ozen.

He had 15 in the first loss to Central. I am not sure what he had in the 2nd game.

Memorial held him to single digits, so there is THAT subpar game, the rest are a stretch though.

I’ve said many times, very good player without much help around him and very unselfish. He’s outstanding for a soph. Can’t wait to see him junior and senior year as he matures and hopefully gets more help around him.

I believe the old adage goes ' a great player makes his teammates better'.  I didn't make that up.  And he's a sophomore.  Is there's no underclassmen there at Nederland that has  above average athleticism or above average skill sets?

I don’t think any (maybe one) of the supporting cast would start for any of your “Big 3” if that is what you are asking. Not a knock on those kids, if anything it’s a compliment to the Big 3.

But Ozen is riddled with injury.  And Nederland has one of the best in the country.  Not a fair comparison, according to some.

Ned is led by a sophomore that doesn’t have a lot of help around him, but I know you love to hate him. He’s very unselfish and doesn’t force things often. Very solid player, but I think his best days are certainly junior and senior season. His first game vs the “Big 3” wasn’t a very good game for him, but he scored 15 with 6 boards and he was the only one to register on the dunk-o-meter that night. Ned only scored in the 30’s that night. Ned will have a lot of close games and a 3rd or 4th place district finish, but the kid will continue to improve. Hope to see him add some weight in the next 2.5 years though!
