Another one not listed but one of the best coaches in our area is the gentleman up in Big Sandy. Kevin Foster is the most overlooked basketball coach in the area.

A down year for Hardin and they still have a shot at the one seed

Orangefield did lose a good bit.Yeah Kountze  didn’t make the playoffs… The team was basically all sophomores but they did play a seeding game with Buna for 4th which they did lose.. they also beat East Chambers once last year as well so it’s not like they were just a bad team. I stand by my prediction that they will be a favorite to win district. After the first few weeks of the season I think others will be on board as well

It's certainly a mixture.  Great players can only overcome so much poor coaching, but in the same breadth, great coaching can only elevate marginal players so far.  The players are the most important part, because you'll never win without them, but the coaches will play an important role.
