I guess I am missing something here OldTimer.........should Strong give up on his convictions and cave to the desires and whims of 18 to 20 year old kids? I do not want a program where the inmates run the asylum.........see Miami in the 80's.  If that is what the Old Cronies want they might as well fire Strong now. I can't help but believe Charlie had to lay out his plan for removing "soft" from the football team. Everyone in the process of hiring him had to know. Give him the time to continue his plan.

Would I send troops over there? Absolutely yes. I would send more than what we need to kill every person wearing one of those ISIS  flags. Be it 3,000 or 30,000. If twice that are killed in collateral damage so be it. Mosques, community buildings......everything is fair game. End this crap before they can grow, organize and do more damage. But our Blunder in Chief will send more troops to fight ebola than fight a group that wants nothing more than to kill every American that they can.
 
Once we get this sorted out we watch tv......., 3rd world, dog and cat eating country that burns US flags and complains about what we did, we cut off funding to them that day. If we cut off funding to countries that want to do us harm we would probably pay for this little excursion.

Obama and his big mouth has clued ISIS into our plans. They are blending with civilian shields to avoid being detected. I will say this does not surprise me. The cowards that they are.....beheading people on video and calling out the U.S., only to run and hide when confronted. Cowards, all of them. I think we should make Iraq a glass palace.

I will preface what I say with saying I love high school sports.
 
My fiancé is a teacher. Her math department lost teachers over the summer and they did not replace all of them. Each math class now has over the amount of students that are designed to be in the classroom. She has to have 3 lesson plans per class (regular kids, ESL kids and slower kids). The part that infuriates the teachers, and myself, the school added another coach to the staff that carries a couple of classes but not math. Athletics goes unaffected but again the teachers are left to deal with all the issues.
 
I will go back to my original statement......I love high school athletics. BUT, they need to have their place. The are extras outside of actual schoolwork. The school should be funded first. Teachers should have everything they need for their class and class sizes should be manageable. THEN, sports are funded out of the extra's. If we want to get rid of wasted dollars, look no further than the overstuffed front offices (principals on top of principals along with a coordinator for every subject) and the 12 to 16 coaches on the sidelines of a football game. Whether my son/daughter plays sports or not, they are there for an education first.

I went to the Meet the Coaches at Clear Brook High School last night. Their new offensive coordinator is Coach Kettler. His dad is Elwood Kettler, the quarterback on the Junction Boys team at Texas aTm under Coach Bryant. You all know I am no Aggie but it was good to hear his son talk about him. I look forward to meeting Mr. Kettler at a game this year and getting a book signed by him.

When I got home today I told my 13 yo we were going to watch Dead Poets Society. I told him an actor passed and was trying to explain to him how great he was. I told he was know for impromptu and just making things up. We ended up on youtube watching Mork and Mindy.

That has changed.....not saying it has changed for everyone but for many, they just don't care. And, in our politically correct world, we do not say anything to them because it might hurt their feelings or give them low self esteem.
 
I was laid off once with a 3 month old baby........I drove a beer van delivering kegs for $60/day. I worked 5 times as hard for a quarter of the money but I would not take a handout. I still believe there is work to be had if any able bodied person wants to work. It may not be that managerial position you desire but you can work.

Hmmmmmm.......Big Girl..........what I have read about his early years his mom was left to raise the boys alone. She worked 2 and 3 jobs a day to have money for them. Now if she had food stamps and medical assistance that is wonderful. I know of no one that is against helping someone that is doing all they can but needs a little assistance. What myself and most conservatives I know do not like are the mom/dad laying around the house doing nothing for themselves or their kids demanding the government pay them.
