Reed was great but here it is...
On the record.  I played ball.  Never at the starter level on Varsity. Didn't have the size to compete realistically.
Plenty of fire, heart and desire to do so but facts are facts... It takes SIZE and TALENT to make a difference.
Ive watched Dontre play...both football and basketball.  Young man has size, talent, heart and desire to play at any level given the chance.
He has my vote if none other, that don't matter much at the bank but maybe thats all he needs to hear.
If you gonna do it big Dontre. Then do it big then.
Go Tigers!! They can't break you.

If I were the one hit they might not have to worry bout who was injured .

Hear ye well.... WOS is THE game for the Tigers.  It will show Dontre everything he needs to change to be the guy.  If he can see the field, which he did not in the first half against Livingston, WOS will take notice.
That being said..... WOS is WOS.
I reserve the right to be biased as no glass stays half empty.

Dontre Thomas is very skilled. He is a kid who tool advantage of the off season and improved to become the QB he is today. No he isn't Patrick Reed or Jeremy Johnson,  but makes great decisions throwing the ball and is a damn good QB. I think one player who will have a big impact will be Michael McCain on defense. He is a very solid LB and knows how to bring the pain. At 6'2 215lbs he has some pop on those tackles. As Barbers Hill!

I have a vote in this poll and I can tell you I start with the week before Top 10 and first see who won and lost. That is the standard. If there is a loss I drop that team and then have a pool of other teams I go look how they did and once I have that group down to who won I start to narrow the list by who has beat who. 
I will even admit I am the voter who voted Bridge City at No. 10 after the Newton win. Why? Because they had defeated two state ranked teams in back to back weeks and not many teams can say they have EVER done that much less this year. 
It is not a science folks and in the end, it matters not. 

I thought JJ's teams were better than Reeds and I thought JJ was a better QB, all around.
I, too, believe this will be no more than a 14 point difference either way. Not all Mustangs underestimate the Tigers and I can assure you the WOS coaches and players will not. That's all that matters.
The simple truth is that we've played tall receivers, but they did not have the speed the Silsbee receivers do. We've faced a better passing QB, but he was not the threat to run that Thomas is. There are match-up situations in this game that are different than anything we've seen this year.

If your team won't win another game this year, you should come on out....

WOS defensive dominance year end and year out.  
Why don't more schools with numerous skilled athletes, like Silsbee, spend more time on defensive preparation and scheming to be a dominant program?
Due to an absurd amount of programs total disregard for defense in favor of offensive production, schools with an abundance of offensive firepower every year should invest heavily early on (Freshman & JV) in defensive skills, (I.e, tackling, blitzing, coverage reading, etc.)
As WOS defense goes, so goes the offense.  
I leave it to the experts.

Congrats to Lady Tigers.  I suspected success when I saw them play in the Summer League.  Very improved.  Best of luck thru your season
