One thing I know for sure. No town or community in this WHOLE area needs to criticize another communities culture. Every town has their skeletons and I for one am sick of the hypocrisy. Handle your own backyard and when every citizen of that Community is wearing halos then preach. Silsbee may be front page news today but it comes around so by all means, lap up the milk some keep pouring in the bowl. It'll sour soon enough. Make your statement but be mindful of how long memories last. I've been here a long time, others longer than me.

Well then..... That was a lot. However, I'm getting old but I think we normally win more than two games in the playoffs. Except of course when we play the eventual state champions. A more appropriate, or correct, statement would have been that the reason we haven't won a state championship in football is because of undisciplined play. But hey, semantics right?

1) No need to be upset. We are not in disagreement on the act. Just pointing out the obvious double standard. And the fact that the above highlighted was said by you... says it all. IF that is true, then the thinking is the same on both sides of the field. 2) Guess we'll see then on coaches decisions. And I did say coaches, as in both teams.

Definitely uncalled for... but since we are discussing questionable plays. How about the video for the hit across the middle? Maybe we should upload that and start a thread for taunting over an injured player. Ill be waiting for the video. Otherwise... Leave it to the coaches from both teams. Coach Smith has already proven that he can and will take action.

Too many mistakes. Fumble at Goaline. High snap at Jasper 11. Personal foul. Jasper playing clean game so far.

Not sure Jones was a mobile QB in last years offense either. Doesnt mean he wasnt. I personally believe that this coach is trying to raise the football IQ on both sides of the ball. It takes dedication. I saw one special teams play, an no Im not talking about the field goal, that changed the first half and kept Silsbee close. The ability to strike fear in a player/opponent and it show on the field was something new for Silsbee. It brought them back to life, if only briefly. I look for more of that to take root. You cant have swagger without the ability to back it up with results.

If Coach Smith puts anyone in the backfield it will be Taylor. Lowe is fast but I am no fan of his blocking or aggresiveness. Fixing the problem will net Lowe a TD a game off the passing game, removing him as a downfield threat will only make the defense more bold. Newton had 8 sometimes 9 in the box. You can bet that Coach is working on a checkdown or audible for sure.

Poor statement as that was not the case at all. Tyler was an excellent back and made several plays on his own but for the most part O-Line was creating huge holes for him to run through by District. Watch film. Never even touched at line for most runs and was by linebackers before they knew it. Not taking away from his natural ability. Superb back, but SEVERAL games of 300+ yards and SEVERAL LONG runs (50+) show how well they were performing as a team. Patience people. Raising a teams football IQ will not happen in two years.

Nothing special happened in this game. At all. Except the field goal. Power football from Newton. Silsbee will be fine.

There was lots of muddy water to navigate through last year for the Tigers Coaching staff. Understandable for sure. Obvious from the get go that when a new coach has a DI back the likes of Tyler you take it and don't ask questions. This helped tremendously in buying time for the coaches to evaluate their "Farm" system and current Varsity players. Once system was implemented, the trust factor had to be established. If early indications are to believed then the Tigers are playing much more as a team than past years. Still..... Only time and hopefully wins will tell. Seriously tough Non-District schedule has been set for this coaching staff. PNG Newton Jasper WOS (Homecoming) Havent seen any other schedule as tough, in the immediate area. #TigerNation
