  1. Field turf would be nice but having schools that aren't falling down around you are better. I'm no expert but when was the last time Lumberton built a new school? It may not been an issue but I do wonder. Silsbee's High School is already 17 years old. Just finished the elementary school and the middle School is hanging in with some timely remodeling and upgrades. I'll take the school first. Taxes that remain relatively unchanged and believe it or not, the grass field will be fine. It sucks when it gets damaged but hey.... It's football.
  2. I do my best to keep it civil and between the lines. It is not a small task and for that I commend the moderators/admins for their work. Good luck. And with the graduation of my senior and no desire to sort thru this...... For the adult conversation I have with some of you, I will miss. Hopefully you feel the same. But for now, I bid adeu. Time for a break.
  3. Without all the vitriolic comments shown above, I want to congratulate the Cardinal ballplayers and coaching staff. Came to play and took it in two. Play hard, play well. Bring it home.
  4. Second time I've seen the gestures toward a team at the "end of the game". Last week as well against Tarkington. Might wanna get a hold of that.
  5. Good thing yall have seen it twice for sure.
  6. Maybe so. Silsbee will continue to deliver "beat down" in other moments and continue to split the rest most years. But thanks for pointing it out so eloquently.
  7. I'm done. Bunch of Joe Buck's running the forum now.
  8. Time to book Lamar Field. Make it a weekend for the locals.
  9. N. Whitted with the win. Moves to 7-0 for the season. 7 IP / CG 1 ER / 3 Hits / 7 Ks / 1 BB 98 Pitches / 26 Batters Faced
  10. Don't let us down Stangs. You know what we want. Represent.
  11. Nope. Stephen Keller is #1 Silsbee should stick with what got them here. Sundgren / Whitted / Dunn Stop second guessing and just play ball. If you get hit then manage game. No pitcher is perfect.
  12. Tomorrow. Crafty vs Power. Whitted vs Keller
  13. Maybe so...yet they lost to Orangefield a #4 seed. Maybe they need 4 quality bats instead.
  14. Kennedale went down as well. Several #1 Seeds lost ot #4 seeds. Jasper was probably best team in their district.
  15. Good luck on the venture and welcome to the forum.
  16. One more thing... The off-season regimen is COMPLETELY different now than in the past. Nobody is exempt from the workouts. If it's possible, Silsbee will be stronger, faster and scary as it may sound. More disciplined.
  17. I believe last years offense was a pre-cursor to bigger plans. Smith simplified the run game and really focused on educating his interior lineman. Smart move. Knew he had a big time back that could make quick changes to missed blocks and that paid dividends early on. That offensive line showed tremendous improvement as the season went along and Tyler had HUGE games. Go watch film and see how many times he was beyond the linebackers before anyone realized it. Defense will get better, I have to believe that. It takes time to teach true defense. Collins is a completely different QB than Jones. Bigger with quicker release and runs well also. Only time will tell but I think the quicker you get the ball in the air to Kalon the better he is at going to the ball. Running game will be solid. jmo....
  18. Here is to a good game. TigerNation
  19. Its always a risk not throwing your top pitcher for Game 1. A strategic move that almost payed off for Jasper in those terms. If score would have held, then Jasper is up 1-0 and has their top pitcher available for game 2. It can work both ways. Me, Im throwing my best at the time at whoever and ride the results.
