Burkeville is at least challenging someone who is just about on their level. By the way, Legacy does have a former Oakland Raider as their head coach so they should actually be a pretty good match up. The Kelly Bulldogs prevailed 41-24 tonight, but it wasn't smooth sailing for awhile. The Bulldogs started the game flat and it took them sometime to get the engine running on all cylinders. The first half was a story of field position as Hamshire started drives close to the 50 several times. On the other hand Kelly started several drives around their own 20. The Kelly offense looked good with Eddins connecting with Schrapps for 2 first half touchdowns. The defense took a little more time to settle into the game. The score at halftime was 24-19 Hamshire Fannett. The second half provided what could be the best half of football Kelly has played all season. The Bulldogs held tough on defense forcing the Longhorns to several three and outs. The Kelly offense exploded for 22 points in about 14 minutes. It really was a team effort on offense with everyone contributing. Barber added a long touchdown run in the half, Schrapps another touchdown, Klein a big catch in the red zone, and Peyton making a tough catch to move the chains. The backbreaking drive in this game came with about 10 minutes left in the game. Kelly started around their own 10 yard line and methodically moved the ball down the field chewing close to 8 minutes of clock off. No points would come but the damage was done as their was just no time for the Longhorns to mount a comeback. Trent Almond sealed the game for the Bulldogs with an interception that allowed the Bulldogs to kneel the ball and end the game. The Bulldogs will open district play next week against Houston Christian @ Kelly at 7:30 pm. Injury notes: Rugg for Kelly suffered a contusion on his thigh but should be ready to go for next week. Kenebrew walked off the field with ice on his ankle, hopefully he is okay. Dakota Eddins 22-28-1 276 yards 3 touchdowns. Nick Schrapps 10 Catches 131 Yards 3 Touchdowns Nick Barber Had to have close to 100 yards on the ground Ben Peyton Another great game by Peyton, had to have around 70 receiving yards coming off his HUGE game against Liberty.

Coaching had nothing to do with what happened....It wasnt like he was getting yelled at. It was just a freak thing that happened. I don't think any Coach is going to not yell at a kid because he is afraid something like what happened to Reggie Garrett will happen. Coaches motivate based on the kids. Some kids respond when you get after them, some kids don't. This topic really makes no sense

Maybe they can schedule a game with a couple 6 man teams.

Kelly only has one injured linebacker. I'm sure Wilson will give it a go this week. If your predicting a Kelly loss Kelly would have to be held under 20. If your giving up 28 points to Kelly, odds are your losing the game.

Prayers from the Kelly family go out to this young man's family, his teammates, his coaches, and the entire community. Football is a game of brotherhood and unity, and we are all united behind WO-S in support.

Prayers go out from the St. Anne Players and Coaches to the player from Hardin who was injured tonight with an apparent neck injury. He was able to move his legs and arms but had to be carted off on a stretcher. Scary moment for everyone involved. Hope it is nothing serious.

Bridge city really is a good team. They wore Kelly down big time I know the kids were gassed after the game.

You have to remember that Kelly lost their starting center who was first team all district and honorable mention all state. It was a huge loss for the bulldogs.
