Atascocita has not one, but two of the best PGs in the area in Carsen Edwards (going to Purdue) and Greg Shead (Florida International).  They can both shoot, pass, and break you down off the dribble. They also have maybe my favorite big man in the area in Fabian White.  If he played for a shoe team in the summer, he would be much higher ranked.  And then tons of pieces around them.  They might lose this year.  But if they do, it will be to a better team than we have in Beaumont.

Our guys are playing to level that is expected with the current talent on the field. I don't see where the dispute is. You can label these kids 4-5 star recruits, but they all come from Texas high schools playing against other low classification schools. Tyrone Swoops was said to be the answer at QB.. He was a WAY over ranked player who looked like a stud against 3A talent. Strong is working with what he has, and that's less talented upper-classmen than the other teams in the Big12. This whole situation becomes his fault for not developing talent next year. That's when he will have three years of HIS recruits playing the way HE wants.
The Michigan comparison is a perfect example of apples to oranges. Big 10 is not the Big 12.. Where do 90% of the recruits that play in Big 12 come from? Where do the players in the Big 10 come from? Imagine having to use the "leftovers" in Texas high school football against the teams that got their choice. This right here, is the exact reason Mack Brown is no longer coaching. Winning at the highest level requires high level of talent.

Sorry but you are more hopeful then almost all Texas fans I know - but it is good to see some give more time supporters still out there for Texas.
But the fact remains - Texas has been beaten by teams this year with less talent than is currently on the Texas roster.  You can debate this all you want too - and I know recruiting rankings are just a barometer of the talent you have coming into the program - but in 2010 and 2011 Texas had top 5 recruiting classes in 2013 and 2014 Texas had the 20th class both years (per 24/7 sports) while TCU and Baylor in 2013 and 2014 had 25th, 34th, 27th and 48th - much lesser talent and look what they have accomplished.  That does not even address the Iowa State fiasco. 
Texas has seem unprepared and undisciplined in many of their games - that is not on the players but is on the coaching. 
Strong may well be able to still turn it around but I have my serious doubts.

Harbaugh and McElwain didn't seem to have a problem rebuilding, but I agree with you.  They should keep Charlie at least 4 or 5 more years to give him time.  

I don't care who anyone else in the country picks up, NO back-court will be better than Kentucky next year! As if they aren't the best this year already...
I saw the top recruits this summer, and without a doubt the two most dominant players, who change the game on both ends, were Fox and Monk. This team will be a must watch because that duo alone is just crazy to think about.

Fox is easily the best PG this recruiting class. Don't think he should be a one-and-done though because he needs to bulk-up a bit more before the move to the NBA.
He does have the quickest hands I've seen in a game. Bright Future

DeAaron Fox is the best piont guard in the country right now was Dennis Smith Jr. til he got hurt.. Fox will be a one and done player.. He scores in a variety of ways layups,jumps shots, dunks, he has complete game. And if you could have watched him play against some of the best this summer and in every single stage he was a top 5 player.

With that said, this tourney has four 4 team pools. The top two in each pool go to gold bracket (championship) the 3rd place pool team goes to silver bracket and remaining team in pool goes to bronze bracket.
So, even with Big Sandy and Nederland in same pool, they both could possibly (and most likely) advance to Gold (Championship) bracket play.
It's all good.

No Whining from me about the "Transfer" because I remember when this whole site(Beaumont & PA) used to "Whine" about Nederland having "Transfers". I guess its different now from their perspective.

Silsbee will win state from 2016-2035.
Central will get the death penality for illegal recruiting of third world student athletes.
Hardin Jefferson will struggle because all the players will be over weight from the addition of Sonic in Sour Lake.
Kelly will struggle because everyone says so.
Ozen and West Brook will forfeit games because of illegal recruiting by forementioned Beaumont school.
Nederland will go 0-30 because of bad lighting in gym. 
Memorial needs a communication program and fresh legs. 
Every major D1 coach will be in attendance at the Huntington Tournament.

Williams is a real nice dude, but Larry Sterling is much better basketball coach.

Im Sorry but when in this thread did anybody come out and discredit this guy you are trying to promote? This is a matter of opinion board, all some said was that there were others applying for the job that had more head coaching experience.  If anybody discredited anybody it was you trying to compare Brian English and the Boutte family success against him to belittle everything he has done!?     

1) Since your a research kind of guy, tell me how many players from Ozen have gone on to play basketball at the next level or further compared to Vidor and Nederland combined?  Then tell me if Nederland made it to the regional tourney in 2011 and 2014?  
2) Tell me why you got so much hate toward Brian English, this guy has gone to 2 different schools that were known for getting there asses kicked to eventually competing and beating some of the top teams in the area? Live in the past with records if you want but there is no question what he has accomplished at Nederland is pretty special.  
3) If Anthony Boutte is the coach you say he is,I heard Vidor is looking for a coach, tell him to go get that job and see how easy it is.......      FYI  Brian English is lowest paid head boys basketball coach in the area regardless of classification (1A-6A)

Yeah the officials have given the game to Cedar Park - the ref initially ruled first down for Ennis and then turned around and signaled first down for Cedar Park - f-ing bs.  Then to top it off the they disregarded the blatant hold on Cutchings long touchdown run.  

I'm looking forward to texas vs Kentucky.. This is prolly the best Texas team I've seen in years.. So deep.. And a lot of size.

That team is scary deep. Very impressed with Duke too. Going to be a great year in CBB.

Footnote: the Horns will crush the jayhawks on the boards this year. Kansas struggled with them last year with Embid and without Turner.
