When I went to Saudi they told us that most would not come back.  Went to an East coast base before flying out and had a guy from my shop who had cross-trained over into NBC (nuclear-biological-chemical).  He checked out all the stuff my base had given me and 90% was shelved and on his “do not issue” list.  Thankfully, Sadam wasn’t as capable as we thought.  All that to say is I can’t imagine being 18, on a ship and prepping to land on a beach.  You absolutely know what is about to happen because that is what you’ve been training for.  Yet those guys did it, many giving the ultimate sacrifice, to afford us the opportunity to be a free country.  God bless our military, God bless those who have sacrificed everything and God bless those families who have received that notification their loved one will never be coming home.  God bless America!

How sad to think our President may be bought.  Buy he’s old and there’s a young woman waiting in the wings, our beloved VP.  But wait!  Did she just tweet, “Enjoy the long weekend”.  Nice gesture, don’t you think.  But wait!  Did she forget that Memorial weekend is to honor our fallen soldiers?  At first I wondered, maybe she doesn’t know it?  But wait!  Then it struck me, she knows, she just has no regard for those brave men and women or the Military.  How sad!  How very, very sad!

Two Nederland students denied their diplomas due to putting on sashes of the branch of service they’d enlisted in.  One had a Marine sash & one an Air Force.  Evidently it was against the rules, but the incident gives pause to the question, should the rule be changed to allow it?  In my mind, and as we celebrate Memorial Day, the obvious answer is yes.  We should recognize the young folks who volunteer to protect our country.  Jmo

At our Lumberton graduation, the military sashes were actually encouraged (the way it should be...).

Thank you to those that are serving, those that have served and those and their families that gave the ultimate sacrifice so we can enjoy the freedoms of this great country.  We owe you and yours a debt we can never repay.

I hope all of us enjoy the weekend, but take a few minutes to remember the brave men & women who gave their lives for this country.  Thank God for giving us people like them.

True, without a doubt, that can’t even be argued.  The dems wouldn’t even argue it, they openly say this country should be “transformed”...aka destroyed.

So you would of been ok with the Seattle Police shooting all these rioters that stormed and took over the police station? If so, we may have found some common ground.  

No. There is no evidence of any crime except trespassing which is a misdemeanor. A citizen, not the police, have the defense to prosecution in Texas that they were stopping a burglary (breaking and entering) in progress IF deadly force was reasonably needed. The police absolutely do not have that authority as demonstrated by SCOTUS in Garner. The police can use deadly force to stop a threat of deadly force.
 In Garner SCOTUS said there had to be a violent act or the threat of violence for the police to justify deadly force. Maybe she had something that looked like a weapon in her hand and was screaming “I am going to kill you #%£{@!!!”.
If that is true, they need to release at least the claim and an explanation. At least from what I have seen, the officer doing the shooting was the only one with a gun drawn. Why with several officers with him trying to stop a small and likely unarmed woman coming through a window, was he the only one to even draw a weapon? 
According apparently to their prosecutors, it does not even warrant a trial which means it had to be so clear-cut it it was obviously self-defense.
It should not matter but again, swap the roles and see what the outcome would be. A white cop, surrounded by other officers, none of who feel threatened enough to draw their weapon, shoots an unarmed small black female coming through a window. 

I agree it is a moral issue..... but it’s also a legal issue.
when a murder commits the crime against a pregnant woman(both die)= double murder. LEGAL issue
murder is a crime .....manslaughter is a crime.  A life is now gone. LEGAL issue
 

I don't look at it that way at all. My opinion is that many people are baffled/exacerbated/pissed that an officer that kills a Black person is held to one standard, but an officer that kills a White person is held to a completely different standard. I don't want to speak for others, but that is my opinion of why this is an issue.
(Sorry for the late reply, but I haven't been keeping up with the topics here lately. My reply might have already been discussed further in this topic, considering I'm just now reading the first page.)

Exactly. My grandmother was a counselor for Birthright for decades. She counseled young women and men on alternatives to abortion. She saved thousands of lives in doing so. Funny, she never considered throwing away not one of those “unwanted” souls.
