Exactly, we are one of the smallest schools in 3A2. Newton co. Is dropping population every year. We use to have a 7th,8th. Soph.,JV and varsity. Now we have a 7th, 8th, JV ( mostly 9th graders) and varsity. We lack in dept. and most kids go both ways. For example Woodville and Gunter have almost 100 more kids in high school than we do and it gets worse every year.
Doing away with the Robin program really hurt poor schools like newton. We cannot keep assist. Coaches because of poor pay. The same for our law enforcement officers. Our churches are starting to fail. If it wasn’t for Toledo Bend Lake there is no way I would live in Newton co. I am from Pt. Neches so I have seen both sides.
Newton co.survives on grants ( handouts). They are starting construction on that refinery in Bon Wier which means after completion, a boom of 150 permanent jobs is expected. Could the school district add more students as a result? We don't know yet. The population of the county is shrinking because of the youth leaving and not coming back after college or the military. There isn't anything there. But however, people needed to try and stop making excuses.

I am friends on Facebook with one of the coaches (I've known him for many years) with the Mustangs and according to his wife's Facebook post on Thanksgiving (he was tagged in her post) that the 2024 season will be his last coaching. He is likely going to pursue other opportunities outside of coaching. I refuse to disclose that coach's name due to privacy reasons.

I never really liked it on the old school artificial turf (Astroturf). I hurt my right foot. This is like hard cement. I have been on artificial grass only once or twice and it is ok. I just mainly prefer a natural grass surface and it should be well-maintained.

With all due respect to everyone, I do not support abortion. I do not condone killing a human being. Ms. Thurman's death would have been prevented if, she should have never gotten pregnant 🤰. She knowingly had health problems. Ms. Thurman should either have either been using protection or abstain from sexual activity. She should take responsibility for her own health. We shouldn't blame the abortion ban for stuff like that. Ms. Thurman made a decision to travel in another state where abortion is legal to get pills 💊 to terminate a pregnancy. People should live with the decisions they make!

Usually, teams who had spring football back in late April to early to mid May had to wait another week before they begin preseason practices. That's according to the UIL rules.

It was a pretty hot morning yesterday mowing my lawn! My shirt was all drenched in sweat! I try to get my yard work done either early or late in the day.

They should have a very good team, but nothing ever comes easy in their district
Because of that, they are favored to win the district championship this upcoming season.

Almost every superintendent and school board across the Nation should have one like Warren ISD! Agree? They are trying to put academics ahead of athletics. I know almost all of them aren't getting an athletic scholarship and/or going pro but who cares about that? Of course, it's more important for a school to have a competitive athletic program that can compete and win not only on the athletic field/court but we need schools that can compete and win in the classroom as well!

There could be others in the future.

All of Beaumont this year:
Public 1-19
private 7-13
Total. 8-32
Are you forgetting something? Public should be 2-18 because United won over both WB and Alvin this season.

What a game. Memorial forgot to get on the bus. Overwhelming lack of preparation and heart. Coaches game plan…was.. Non-existent..not even sure what it was. They couldn’t get anything going on offense.. They didn’t want that game man. They went in there unprepared. That’s on the coaches. Big time. The players..lacked the will to wanna win…lacked concentration. They were not focused out there. The defense..wow. They made y’all look bad out there. What happened? Y’all have to be better than that. It’s only one week. But the way of defeat…is inexcusable. It’s all done now though. Turn the page and on to next week. The team as a whole needs to really get it together..quick.
Credit to the Hill. They went out there and took care of business. They hit PA with a left then a right…and just kept swinging..lol. Memorial couldn’t do anything about it. Great job to you guys.
Agree! PAM was not prepared. They did not play as well as expected and those were the results! If they want a deep run in the playoffs, the need to be extremely prepared and play better than expected. The penalties and turnovers are the reason games are lost. No excuses period.

Not with the numbers they turned in. But they should be 5a. No way they only gained 20 kids in the last two years. Lumberton is growing like CRAZY
It's likely because families are having less kids and likely empty nesters are moving over there. That is my prediction.

Where are all the Beaumont kids going to school?
Likely to the private schools in the area (only if some people could afford it).

I’ve gone a feeling the the Kelly HC will resign after the season because of this. Thoughts?!
Coach Long will likely will. He is trying to make the program competitive but not successful. These young men worked very hard for this program.

I am not sure if it's legal or not, why couldn't they just simply do the drop kick for an extra point? I remember back in the 2005 NFL season when Doug Flutie of the New England Patriots made a successful attempt. Here is the video:
