1. Salter is entering his senior season and is a great athlete.  We keep hearing about him moving to another position and Rutledge being the QB.  Thoughts?  Facts or Opinion?
 2. Mexican  - Cafe del Rio and Elenas Steak - Goodfellas - usually has a specialty steak each weekend.  Beaumont Saltgrass for awhile left a lot to be desired with their steaks, but they are much improved.  Tony's bbq has good bbq and theirs steaks are good too.  Friday....buy one get one half off. Italian - Carabbas Seafood - I would say Floyds....Pappadeauxs is ok but much of their food seems to be seasoned after it is cooked.
 3. This is my first chance to post since the game (computer fried at home).  Coldspring has quite the team!!  It is indeed more than a one man show and the defense is outstanding!!  Good luck the rest of way and hope you make it to Dallas!!
 4. Can't wait!!  Should be a great game.....good luck to both teams.  Drive safe!!
 5. I was reading the Orange Leader article.....There is a lot of talk about Gilbert.  Monroe's stats look to be pretty solid as well.
 6.
WOS 23 CS    7 I allowed for WOS a 40 yd field goal and a missed extra point
That's a pretty detailed prediction!  :)
 7.
Back on subject. I know Coldspring has one of the best defense in 3A.I know the saying "defense wins champonships" but I'm here to tell ya that ain't always so.We have gone into big games with top rank defenses and got spanked.A well prepared offensive game plan can defeat a good defense. You walk away  shaking your head wondering how could a team do that to our defense.Just saying... ;) GO MUSTANGS
Boy thats no joke!!  Ennis is the first one that comes to mind....

Highland Park holds the all classifications record with 52. Both WO-S and Coldspring would have to make a 30 year run to match that record.
Considering our MUCH shorter history, should we not look at percentages? We've made the playoffs 69 percent of the time (going from 1979 on) and CS has made it 36 percent (going from 1942 on).
I knew if I threw the bait and hook out some shark would take the bait. Sorry they don't keep those kind of stats at the UIL site, if they had I would have posted them. You need to take it to UIL, these are their stats, not mine. Besides you know stats don't mean nothing, its time to play the game... By the way #200 coming up, saved it just for you.
The stats are fine! You guys have just had 37 extra years to rack up those impressive three extra playoff appearances! ;) What is it that I'm taking to the UIL? Sometimes I think you're watching a different movie than the rest of us. Thanks for acknowledging, finally, that the stats don't mean anything.  ;D
With my 200th post I will post about the same garble de gook that you post. Tell me just what does the number of new HIV/AIDS cases in China is soaring, state media said on Wednesday, citing health officials, with rates of infections among college studentsrising have to do with this football game. Did you say that? "Thanks for acknowledging, finally, that the stats don't mean anything" Then why do you read them? Then get all bent out of shape like some chicken runing around KFC wondering what is going on inside! By the way what is all thal BS at the bottom of your post, that you pride yourself with...they mean nothing!!!! Smite....
I have enjoyed reading your stuff for awhile.  You do not seem to be the innocent bystander that you claim.  No one is perfect, but you talk in circles and your arguments make like a soup sandwich....for a writer. For awhile I was onboard with what you were saying.  Seems like you crawfish like a politician on the ropes and have some agenda.  Nothing to do with the game but your defense of "standing behind the numbers" is getting old.  Since you have your 200+ posts feel free to "smite" me.
Do they take random predictions at the bank??? I would like to try to cash one in also. CS 10  WOS 3 FYI: I figure that's a touchdown/2 point conversion and a safety to get that 10 points What can I say, just as good of a chance to have this score as any other guesses I have seen on here.
This is getting funny.  CS with 10 points on every odd ball play that you can imagine and WOS with 3......
 10.
Come friday all of Texas will know what Coldspring is all about. All this talk about who beat who that beat this team and that one don't matter. What matters is who wants it more. The WOS faithful think all they gotta do is stop Gillbert but what they don't know is we got three other backs who will run you over. If their qb don't make good decisions with the ball we will take it away. Our d line and lbs are relentless and hit hard and everything that moves. They will force turnovers. On special teams if they kick it to our returners they will take it to the house. I know both sides will leave it all on the field. Hope for a healthy game. Get you're popcorn ready.
Excellent post!  However, I will say the same about the CS QB....if he doesn't make good decisions, he could have another 4 INT night.
 11.
I am not the author of this question but I am going to ask it.  Would WOS be here at this point if Hooks was still head coach?
That is a tough question to answer.  Obvioiusly Hooks did great things and his hand print is all over this team.  I am just proud of how Coach Thompson filled his shoes and handled all of the adversity starting off 2-3 and some tougher than expected midseason games.

 14.
No disrespect to Bullard but WOS was twice their size and had twice the depth. Bullard made some bad plays ( 2 high snaps in WOS red zone) To me that was the turning pt of the game  I was there and watch the game until mid 4th. WOS has good size to match up with CS but they have a lack of speed on defense. Your running back is fast and can turn on the drop of a dime. I think his fumbles today werent his normal playing style. (JMO) But TRUST me CS defense isn't like anything you guys have seen. I think BC and Lorena would have sent you guys home a long time ago.  Hey its the playoffs and at this level anything can happen  I hope its a good game without any injuries. Good luck to both sides. PS I know I will get dogged for this but JMO!!!
I don't recall WOS ever being called out for a lack of speed.  Maybe they didn't get a chance to showcase it tonight....but I think you will find more than a couple guys that can cover some ground.  I also have to disagree with you on BC sending us home.  No disrespect to our fellow district mate but we sent them to face yall first by winning district.  And I am glad you have that much respect for a 7-6 Lorena team.  You ought to really enjoy this 10-3 team!!!  I know CS has a great defense and I think that will really be a challenge for the Mustangs.  However, doesn't the lack of offense concern CS fans a little?  WOS defense might not be as good as CS but they are stout.  I would bet the WOS defense will be the best that CS will have faced in the playoffs.

Hoping the best of luck to them the next to weeks. Hopefully Coldspring will win the next 2 weeks and we will have another 22-3a and 21-3a match up to see who the weeker of the 2 districts are
I do not think that one game determines which district is stronger. If one team wins a state championship and all the other teams in that district do not have a winning record, does that make that district the strongest?  This my thing is bigger and better than your thing is just getting out of control.
I am saying that because everyone in 21-3a thinks they are king of the gill and no one can beat them. Cs knocked out bc with a great game. Huffman put silsbee out, and I would love to see the out come of the game. And mr umpire. It is the wos folks that are blowing it up how 22-3- is so weak and over rated. My opium is it would be a great match up
I bet Mr. Rick James would say...."opium" is a heck of a drug

When he's close to perfect, I'm sure he will appreciate monetary compensation.  Again, good game Cleveland.  Mustangs, you make us proud...no matter what!
perfection isnt needed, consistant would be nice. our offense did well tonight as a whole, no doubt!
Venom, while I appreciate your honest opinion, calling out the young man as in earlier posts is not the way to go.  The coaches are responsible for putting the players in the best position to succeed...which means placing the players in the right position and making the right play calls.
 22. I would give the guy some credit...he took over a very weak program and has returned them to a team to be reckoned with.
