Hey folks. Just wanting to gauge interest in possibly starting up a HS football podcast for our area. I already listen to a few podcasts from LSG like 59N and Grant/Terry’s two shows. They cover our area somewhat, but it’s usually a part of a bigger area or the entire state. Bare minimum, the proposed podcast would run maybe 20-30 minutes and cover SETX teams week to week. Final scores, standings, and other bits of information along the way. If we’re really getting after it, there’d be some extra stats, short interviews with coaches and some of the broadcasters in the SETX Sports group, and some highlights around the state. We could even expand into some of the other sports as the year goes on. Again, just trying to gauge interest. Personally, I think it’d be good for not only our contingent on here in the forums, but folks in the area that want to keep up with our local teams. Feedback appreciated!

Like I said, it wasn't necessarily the smart thing to do... Lol. I'm glad I didn't do it. By his reaction though, I feel like the officer knew he was following way too close. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the police and the very difficult job they have to perform. By the same token, that is an earned respect, and not automatic.

She came to a stop. Once the following trucks hits his brakes to avoid her, does her other actions matter? No. Her initial intentional act created the situation. The fact that she got out of her car later has no bearing.

You can do whatever you want. 🤔 A folly is believing that because a person knows a law on a particular topic, it somehow equals all laws on that topic. An example I have used in the past, I have seen people in a couple of different forums say that the police can do nothing to you for driving in the left lane if there is no sign forbidding it. They are absolutely correct!! Well, assuming a person is only asking about that particular law that in chapter 544 on signs. However…. there was another traffic law in a different chapter that says: Sec. 545.051. DRIVING ON RIGHT SIDE OF ROADWAY. (b) An operator of a vehicle on a roadway moving more slowly than the normal speed of other vehicles at the time and place under the existing conditions shall drive in the right-hand lane available for vehicles, or as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway, unless the operator is: (1) passing another vehicle; or (2) preparing for a left turn at an intersection or into a private road or driveway. Oh there is a different law about lanes? Like one that could get me arrested and my vehicle towed? That is not what I saw on Facebook! This law doesn’t mention speed limits. I have often heard the comment and as long as I’m going the speed limit I can drive anywhere I wish. Ooookay… This law says if you’re going slower than the other vehicles at that time and place, get out of the way. Basically, if people are passing you on the right, you are probably violating a lane law. But that was just for an example. So roll the dice and try your gambit. Caveat: The above is intended for humor however the laws cited are actual laws.

I agree. Personally, they shouldn't do a team at all.

Am very proud of our Bobcat on it. But my personal opinion is that if you aren’t going to include everyone (within a classification, etc.), kind of makes the list a bit of a joke. Like having an All American college team with only players from Adidas schools. Just my opinion though. Still an honor but if you are going to do it THSCA, do it right.

It's only for schools that are coached by a coach who is a member of THSCA. Not all coaches are members.

I have been a voter since the original presentation. I think that have voted every year except one. When it first started we met each Sunday afternoon and talked about the weeks games. That was kind of fun but it got real old. I was ready to quit and then they quit meeting. I think all the voters have their own way of making their decisions. For years I felt it should be a senior award and I would not voter for any juniors. I have voted for juniors in recent years but I don't think I ever voted for the player if he won as a junior and was on the ballot as a senior. You can't see all the players so you have to depend on what coaches tell you and in my case I used to have a lot of friends in the news business and I would ask some of them about players that I had not seen. Many of my friends in the news business are no longer in the business so even that has changed. This will probably be my last year but I think the Lions are having a tough time finding enough judges so if I am still working any I may do it again.
