I think it varies by Coach, I've asked ten coaches this question and I get ten different answers....a lot just depends on where your program is at that time...for example teams like North Shore and Duncanville will play just about anyone willing to play them If you are in a nine or ten team district and you move into district play quick you may want to try and get specific looks or systems based on those early non-district games that are crucial If your program is down in the dumps you are probably just trying to find games you can be competitve in that maybe you can steal a win If you are middle of the road to good you probably try and split your schedule...one really tough game, one game where you feel good about a win and one game thats maybe a coin flip... If you are in a four or five team district that 5th and 6th non-district games are pretty much just seeing who else is in a small district and pairing up...thats how Brownsville Hanna and Amarillo Tascosa played a few years ago lol

  3. Reading on another forum… Apparently, the police did not recommend charges. The former district attorney did not prosecute. At that point you would think he was cleared and normally that is true. In comes a new DA who makes it a point to push the case where the defendant has already been cleared. Certainly that is legal but has it really done that way? Once the case has been investigated and the accused person should cleared, unless new evidence comes up, it is considered closed. If those things are true, that the police did not recommend charges and the former DA did not seek charges, it appears this is nothing but a political indictment. It is the same as with the George Zimmerman and the Kyle Rittenhouse prosecutions. The evidence simply did not back up convictions on those charges yet in the big media cases, the prosecution went forward against the evidence. The US DOJ did the same in the Michael Brown, “hands up don’t shoot” false accusations but fortunately even they could not come up with enough evidence to go forward.

  5. You are correct about Vidor having bigger number but that Lumberton Growth… from what I heard from a Lumberton MS football coach these are record number size for the current 6th-8th grade. They are saying it’s huge and every week more kids are moving in… Another one to watch for is Splendora, all that growth in that area Splendora will be 5A very soon… we had a regular Splendora poster that said in the next realignment or 2 they will be 5A a few years back… I drove through that area not along ago and was hard to recognize so much new growth and neighborhoods as well. 2022-2024 UIL numbers for good measure. Lumberton 1215 Vidor 1229 LCM 1024 Livingston 1152 Huffman 1099 Splendora 1234
