We passed $39 trillion in debt this week. One of every three dollars the federal govt spends is borrowed, and interest rates can’t come down right now. Trump gave big tax cut last year and promised to offset the cost with tariffs, but they were proven illegal, refunds are pending…. But we already slashed tax revenue. We quite simply put, can’t afford to cut any tax revenue right now. It makes even less sense then Doge checks.

I still don’t understand why no one is proposing a tax holiday (State & Federal) while prices are elevated from the ME conflict. Would seem an easy way to curtail grumbling and help the public. That would be an immediate price drop of about 0.55/gal. A lot better than draining SPR.
