  1. Past hour
  2. Understood. I did not take it that way. There were a few very good versatile players in the district that could have had a case.
  3. Josh Gibson has notified the district that he will not be returning next year.
  4. Today
  5. Whatever you say. I'm not going to go any further into this as I don't want any of it to come off as criticism of the player, who as I said had a very good year.
  6. They certainly have their logic. Dellinger played 5 different positions this year and was most definitely a utility type player.
  7. like I said, I know that a lot of politics come into play. If the WRS awards had a utility award, Pirtle would be on the shortlist of favorites to win it. And just so it's clear, because I know he's one of your guys, this is in no way a knock on the player. He had a really good season and deserved recognition this year. It's just strange to me that this was how the coaches worked it out to do it.
  8. Per East Texas Gameday: Pleasant Grove AD/HC Josh Gibson, a two-time State Champion, has notified the School District that he will not be returning to Pleasant Grove. More information to come shortly. Check back.
  9. A reason why I no longer post All-District teams. They have become a farce with all the different "special" accolades and the fact that more than 44 players make 1st team and 2nd teams. 71 players made Superlatives/1st/2nd teams (not counting honorable mentions). A normal count would be 47-48, at most 50.
  10. Well, he was a unanimous selection. So every coach in the district (including HF) felt the pick was accurate.
  11. From the little ive seen watching BC, when Bush and Mungy are firing on all cylinders those boys make everyone around them better and it really causes problems for opponents.
  12. I watched them against PNG, Nederland and then I watched the HJ game online. I’m not saying BC isn’t 10-15 points better than a full strength healthy Vidor team, because they are, but not how this game went. That’s why I was wondering about Vidors issues? There is a difference in a team winning each quarter by 3-5 and by the end of the game winning by 20 and a team being up 30 by halftime or midway through the 3rd and then winning by 20.
  13. Let me guess Fire English post are coming like the Fire Smith Post last week lol
  14. I agree with you, They have some guys coming.
  15. Some folks are just fans and we all really believe in our boys. It's tough to make some see that there really are levels and tiers to this when we have so many weaker matchups on our schedule. EC is top tier along with us and Buna is another level from the rest of what we see in District. Those games we have to come out and stay out with ultimate focus and stay on the gas.
  16. I tend to agree. I would make OF a 4-5 point favorite. Not sure where some of these people are getting double digit win.
  17. Maine Somali Man Threatens to Pull Support From Democrats Over Fraud Inquiry! BTW -- the man can barely speak English! [Hidden Content]
  18. I know there's a lot of politics that goes on in these things, but a one-way player (with a little special teams thrown in) getting Utility Player of the Year over Pirtle is wild.
  19. That is a big spread to take against Coach Sutherland in East Chambers. I know our boys are very good this year, but he is the best at limiting Scales's touches and that always changes the game. I truly believe this game will be closer than most folks anticipate. Don't get me wrong, I whole heartedly believe that our Bobcats come away with the win, but EC can never be taken lightly.
  20. Why? According to most folks (mostly OF peeps) the Bobcats are going to win this game by 12+. North Shore/Atascocita will be a much better game in that regard.
  21. Ok that sounds right. All of their guys were there for the Bc game.
  22. I was told at EC tourney they were still missing 3 players, including a starter. Those three missed the Jasper game but could have been cleared for BC game.
  23. What games were you able to watch of BC?
  24. What starter was missing? Vidor had a different starting line up last night but every normal starter they’ve had this season played a bunch last night. I assume the starting line up was a little different that they didn’t start as a continuation of the discipline issues. That’s the only reason I would think those guys weren’t out there to start in a game that big
  25. Thinking about switching my Friday game from 3A #10 Orangefield at 3A #18 East Chambers to 6A #14 North Shore at 6A #5 Atascocita. Or, I could stay at home and watch both games on Texan Live. 😉
