I would think our district will be these six definitely then: Port Arthur Memorial Beaumont West Brook Beaumont United Baytown Sterling Baytown Lee* GCM And then possibly could throw La Porte and Crosby in there or add the New Caney schools...

Also, the thought that needs to be brought up from my understanding is that last year’s senior group — and the current one — did not win a single game in junior high. I would say the offense is not the problem either. Looking at the roster that was handed out, there are six seniors on the team, and the majority of the remaining players are sophomores. You can tell these boys battle every snap. If you look back at their district play, they’ve been in every game at halftime, but as is often the case with a young team, the older kids tend to have the upper hand. Every team they faced in district had seniors spread across all three phases of the game. I think Trahan is doing a great job. He holds the kids accountable and pushes them to give their very best. I wouldn’t be surprised if next season they make a strong run in district.

Do you know if there was any consideration given to simply playing an 8 game district schedule? A home and home set up though not remotely the norm in football could have been utilized. Curious in case the same situation were to occur. At that time weren't the other 2 districts in the region a 4 and 5 team district? I think this lead to WOS facing an 0-10 team at home for a 1st round playoff game. Could be wrong though.

GCCISD Sterling - 2,202 Goose Creek Memorial - 2,122 Lee - 1,773 This should put them all in 5A and I assume they will opt Lee up to D1.

Just looked at scores from this season and last, you are accurate about improvement. Buna was averaging less than 7 points a game through the first 9 games last year and with a 22 point "explosion" in the final game bumped the average up to 8 points. That's a rough offensive season. This year the offense outscored the previous season's average in all but the final game. Definitely some improvement and a few very close games. If the team is young like you state your optimism could be sound.

OF needs to be 4a. Hardin is loosing some dudes but will still be decent. I'm pretty sure Bridge City and H-J won't be on the schedule either.

Well, based on what people are saying , there's a good chance you won't have to play Hardin next year , so you have that going for you.

Some of you guys are delusional. We have played with basically a JV team for the last 2 years. The cougs have been in shotgun all year running slot t and spread concepts. Every team has played press man and loaded the box. Youth is the issue, not the offense. The record this year was the same but there was a vast improvement from the previous year. Games were very competitive for the most part with a ton of soph starters. I would not be surprised to see them be over .500 next year and even better the next.
