  7. Hours….. In Texas there is a second trial that starts immediately if there is a guilty verdict and if the defendant chooses the jury to set punishment. Both sides will call witnesses to testify on behalf of the state and defense. They will try to convince the Jury to give a more harsh sentence or a more lenient sentence. Basically it is a trial of character witnesses. It really shouldn’t last very long as both sides should be able to make their case fairly quickly. Mama will probably get up there and say my son is a good kid and he just made a mistake and other such witnesses. The prosecution will try to show bad conduct like in trouble at school, a previous criminal history, etc., and ask for significant time in prison, probably even life. The Jury, will then go back and decide what the fate of Anthony is. I don’t know what the defense will bring up however, I think the penalty range will be 2-99 years or life.

  12. They have to (and certainly will) find a point of appeal where Anthony didn’t receive a fair trial because __________(fill in the blank). The Black women who were struck by the prosecution, faulty jury instructions, jury misconduct, evidence allowed that should have been excluded, etc.
  13. So no chance of appeal unless they can find fault in system, correct?
  14. I was wrong this is more you than Baddog although he’s not far behind. Lol
  15. Sure, likely to end an avenue for an appeal. Manslaughter doesn’t fit elements of what happened. Manslaughter is an accident. There was not even any evidence brought by the defense or any claim that it was an accident. I guess the judge could have allowed a class C assault for an offensive contact as a lesser included crime.
  16. Apparently they changed transfer rules too. [Hidden Content]
  17. After the 4th stab wound, then, and only then can it be considered murder.
  18. The judge allowed the jury to consider manslaughter.
  19. And Manslaughter doesn’t even fit the incident. They are used to other states and their various levels of murder. I have said it before, but under Texas law, to convict him of manslaughter would mean that it was an accident.
  20. That has to be Porter and DCT on the right. Everything is seen through TDS tinted glasses!

  24. Those knuckleheads on court TV keep repeating 'Wow"..... One said they were expecting manslaughter and the other because of the short deliberation thought he would be acquitted.....and that guy is making a fool of himself. Calls it dumb...... He said he only stabbed him once, it's not murder..... court tv is biased big time
  25. Murder one! As they say in the movies.
  26. Guilty of murder.... according to KHOU11
  27. I'm at work not working waiting for the verdict.....
