10-4A DII has 4 top 25 teams. #2 WO-S #14 Silsbee #19 Hamshire-Fannett #25 Shepherd Hardin-Jefferson and Jasper. This will be a very tough district.

While in Nam I ordered a 66 malibu classic through the PX to pick up at Seattle when I got back. Paid 500 down and was to do a bank draft when I picked it up 1100+ bucks. Well bank refused. Hard to argue with this, I forgot about the Alvin ISD connection with the girls AD. A quick look at MaxPreps will show BH routinely beating 6A schools for a number of years, so "needing" a coach with 6A experience doesn't hold water. The reality is that Chambers County (really East Harris too) and farther east to the Beaumont area are on an island when it comes to VB club options; especially when compared to the majority of the larger Houston Metro area. That is why getting a coach that had shown a track record of achieving, even with lesser talent, would have moved the needle a lot more.

My first car was a ‘66 Nova, 283 w/ 4 barrel, and Powerglide transmission. Paid $600 and had to get a loan co-signed. Wish I still had that one.

GCM was not in a super weak district while Veen was there. For a number of years that district contained the always strong Friendswood team and an extremely competitive Santa Fe team. Years before that were against Summer Creek and Kingwood (better than todays KW). It is very plausible to say that GCM had MUCH more competitive district draws than BH.

How do you clean up a mess where the kids and some adults have absolutely NO fear? They do fear death and they do not fear the consequences of taking a life.

As we are about 2 months out from the first non district game to be played so that we can pass the time I wanted to start a thread of discussion of which teams have the toughest non district slate schedule for this season based of the DCTF pre season rankings I’ve seen floating around already.
