I wouldn’t expect anything different from CBS. This is just another opinion piece. Care to comment on a sitting US Senator coming in 3rd in the Louisiana primary?
-
This would make a great Metamucil commercial. lol. Was this article due to a search or simply popped up. Mine popped up, and I thought is was clever.
-
Unfortunately that’s where we are at.
-
I just wish there were more viable options. But, the Parties have a stranglehold for the most part.
-
I never said I’d vote democrat.
-
The alternative is voting for a Party that wants to stack SCOTUS, do away with the Electoral College, add DC & Puerto Rico as States, and allow non-citizens to vote where they basically end our democratic republic because they don’t want to lose power again. Can’t seem to get people to wake up and look at more independent candidates that don’t just follow Party lines. Not sure how to make it happen. But, I sure wish it could. To me, Kentucky has done it right with Massie and Paul. Heck, I used to even like Lieberman.

TEA takes over BISD and dissolves school board……. again
Separation Scientist replied to tvc184's topic in Local Headlines
Speaking of Miles. if you haven't seen him in an interview he is very soft spoken, gentlemanly, and professional. I have watched HISD people make absolute fools of themselves on TV trying to shout him down. One slur they repetitively called him was "the Grand Wizard of the KKK". Funny thing is, Miles is half black and half Asian. What a bunch of racist idiots! -

When BISD rolls, BISD rolls hard! LOL -
The first article IS an opinion piece tied to the data from the second link. Personally, I think purchasing power tied to inflation is a much better indicator of financial class than trying to find a number that is almost impossible to define due to differences in cost of living in different areas. Obviously, ‘Middle Class’ in NY, NJ, or CA is much different than in SETX or TN, KY, AL, or many other areas. But, if you tie it to purchasing power—like this study does—it’s an area specific number that would seem to be a more accurate measure. These researchers didn’t appear to be partisan based on their credentials. Politicians using an undefined term ‘Middle Class’ is—just as the opinion article states—a way to appeal to the masses from an emotional sense that has no real data to back it up. It’s an easy term to throw around in speeches. The closest number we have to define a limit is from the Census. It defines poverty as ‘households’ that make 125% of the Federal Poverty Level. That level—as of 2024–was a little over $31k/yr for a household of 4. The Census puts that number at about 36 Million people, of which about 15 Million are children. (The Census doesn’t tell us if the respondents are U.S. citizens or not.) So, around 21 Million adults—out of a population of close to 370 Million—are considered at or below the poverty line. Presumably, ‘Middle Class’ starts above that level based on number in the household.

Not supposed to look ahead but Franklin should be favored.

Another never Trumper bites the dust. This sitting Senator actually came in third! Love it. Cornyn will be next. For the Paxton run off, early voting starts the 18th! The main election is the 26th! Paxton!!
-
Thanks, we will need all the luck we can get. All the teams left are highly ranked. BH gets Leander, and Melissa and Aledo are on the other side. Hope its works out for your "better 1/2". Get well soon!

SELA wins in 11. Both teams homered in the 11th but SELA had a 2 run shot and McNeese had a solo. Both brackets will reach the full allotment of games. -

Kaiden Lunceford pitched 6 innings around 110 pitches, Luke Williams pitched bottom of the 7th against the top of very good Georgetown line up to get a save. These guys are really tough. Great team effort. Great game and a lot of fun, thanks Guys for all the hard work you have been putting in for a long time to let us watch ya'll and enjoy your successes. Looking forward to the next round. Tell anyone who loves PNG sports to get to the games if you can. Another quick note about Lunceford after pitching he was out there bringing gloves, etc to teammates he is a really special young man with a servants heart. I don't know him or have any connection to him, but his family should be proud.
