I used to say that but apprenticeships and technical certifications or trade schools show that you can finish something. The military is the same. Do people really need English composition, humanities and intro to science classes for most jobs? I would venture to guess that in a majority of jobs, a person who has done 4 years in the military and was honorably discharged (and probably has a learned skill) should rank higher than a person who has English Lit and consumer math with a sheepskin. Looking at google out of curiosity, up to 41% of college grads are not employed in a job that deals with their degree and 52% at least initially take jobs that do not require a degree. I didn’t dig into how many eventually gained employment in jobs that actually require a degree Obviously some jobs should require a certain level of education such as medical doctors, lawyers, school teachers, certified accountants, HR people, perhaps banking, etc. Other than those, I think the need for college is way overblown.

I’m not a fan of the higher education racket but admittedly, not everyone has the capacity to be a self learner and many fields require a degree.

I’d say that he does deserve another term imo.

I consider any city/town within a 35-mile radius of Beaumont to be in Southeast Texas. The first overall state championship in any sport dates back to 1925, when Beaumont High (formerly Beaumont Central) won the basketball title, and the last State Championship was in 2025, when Beaumont West Brook won. Putting things into basketball perspective in Southeast Texas, Beaumont has 11, Port Arthur has 10, Buna has 7, Kountze has 4, Hardin Jefferson has 3, Silsbee has 2, Orange has 1, and Evadale has 1. There have been so many incredible teams that it's hard to rank a top ten without excluding some great teams. The problem at Nederland is they don’t play defense They either do not put the best people on defense, don’t know how to coach it, are a combination of the 2. The reason PNG has been so successful is that defense is the # 1 priority. Joseph knows that is how you win You have 1 coaching staff that is really good and 1 that is really bad!
