As a result, elderly residents must travel further to Florence or Charleston, SC, for services no longer available- gas prices are $4.59 per gallon, along with rising costs overall. Marketplace insurance plans have high deductibles- here, it's $8000.00 based on your ZIP code with Ambetter Health- and you must earn less than $16000.00 a year to qualify. It's called a 50/50 plan, meaning you cover half, but there are no doctors in the area accepting Ambetter. Doctor visits cost $ 60, and the plan excludes coverage for x-rays and lab work. You must pay for that. Finding a specialist is difficult, and if you earn $16000.00 a year, paying the deductible is challenging. The $8000.00 deductible is enforced if you go to the hospital for services. After you meet the deductible the plan pays 100%.
