Yeah, all of the teams in 10-5a DII are 0-1 after this first week. There were a few close games but no winners.

Good win to start the season for Crosby. Most complete game I’ve seen us play in three years, very easy to see the difference in the way the kids are prepared. I don’t expect the new, young staff to be as sound as BH next week but if they somehow do walk out with a victory I think the question immediately becomes “Can Crosby win a shocker somewhere in district play?”. Either way it’s the first time Crosby has been 1-0 in eight years so already kudos to the new staff.

I agree, that tight end play action was a great call. Caught us on our heels. PNG Oline got some work to do in protecting QB. Linebackers and d backs look solid. In the trenches needs work but feel confident in the coaches. Tough preseason but as long as qe stay healthy it will only help us. OLine bigger than I thought.

Tip of the cap to PAM. #21 is a solid RB. He runs north/south with a mean streak. Stop fooling around with the QB/RPO package and give #21 the football. On defense, #10 and #45 were difficult to block and disruptive. #72 was a load in the middle. Nice call by the PAM staff on the TE pass. Heavy run formation, then hit the TE behind the defense. Well done. Good first game. PN-G got better as the game went on. They made some mistakes in the first half but played tougher and better in the second half. Lots of good pieces to work with this season. Good luck to PAM this year. GO INDIANS!

Crosby is “6A” so it should look like this against a team two divisions below them. Would’ve liked to have seen this game with Poth still at DC for Dayton to really get a gauge on Crosby’s new OC but either way I think it was good work for both teams in terms of things they need to improve on moving forward.

LP will be fine. Tough year—with only 2 predistrict games—to totally change the offense though. Especially with a younger OL. The pistol/pro will suit these players better as they learn the new schemes. The D was actually in position most of the time. The Crawford QB was just throwing dimes, and when a little off, #3 had the size and talent to just go up and snatch it. Both had speed and elusiveness to burn. Not sure LP will see too many combos like them for awhile, and should have time to grow beforehand. LP is pretty young. I think many expected LP to still pound Simon all the time. That’s evidently not what they’re planning this year. He really didn’t get the ball that much. I assume by design, and not wanting to wear him out in games that don’t count.

Well the district is cupcake so hopefully they will use the non district games to get it going. They should THROTTLE that district scoring 40 plus a game. MCM is a different story, but the rest…

Yeah I could see him getting over 400 carries this year and hitting close to 3000 yards if they make it back to state.
