Our Unsung Hero, Vidor's center, Devon Asher

Everyone knew before the 2012 season started that the Pirates' biggest question mark would be the offensive line. Returning only one starter from the 2011 season which saw us go three rounds deep, there were a lot of doubters among the Vidor faithful that we could be effective having lost such a great bunch down in the trenches. Never fear, ol' number 68 has risen to the occasion and our 0-line is as good as ever. Devon has  battled some pretty tough opponents this year including Nederland's Brock Pryor yet has risen to the top. IMO, Devon should be included in any talk about all district players. Big shout out to a young man who's leadership should take him far in life. Who's your team's unsung hero?

Saw this thread last week & meant to comment on it.  Vidor gives Montana a lot of well-deserved recognition, but I do believe there are others on the field that are just as deserving.  Devin is a good example.  Also let's not forget about Michael Godeaux & Bryce Cooper as well.  I've seen Bryce play offense a little this season as well as his normal positons on defense & special teams.  Godeaux is a reliable powerhouse.  There are just a lot of talented young men on the team this year & they know how to come together and play some football.
