2. The "kiddie league" in question would be the South Texas Youth Football League.  Vidor won that tournament to be eligible to play against the winning team from the North Texas Youth Football League.  Both of these are affiliated & "governed" by USA Football which is the Official Football Development Partner of the NFL.  As far as your references to them needing to go out of town to win, well I really don't understand why such disparaging remarks are made against a bunch of 9 & 10 year olds. This team lost 1 game all season.  Let's give credit where credit is due.  ALL of the youth teams played their hearts out!  If you have issues with coaches then that's a different issue, but I don't think ANY child from ANY team should be the target of some of these callous remarks.
3. The hows & whys are no longer important.  What really matters is this group of 9 & 10 yr olds went out there & proved that they are CHAMPIONS!  They had one bad game all season that cost them the Super Bowl title, but I believe that the loss pushed them to fight harder for the State Championship & they succeeded. Way to go boys! We are so proud of you! & thank you to all who supported them!
4. What was displayed last night was the heart of a true champion! All of you fought until the end. Hold your head up & be PROUD.  Your last game of Friday night football didn't end the way you wanted it to, but there shouldn't be any regrets. Montana Quirante showed his true colors as he led on field on & the sidelines.  To see him talking up his teammates even after it was obvious there was no way to come showed the character of this young man.  He is a LEADER. Micheal Godeaux was a powerhouse last night!  He gave it his everything & just never quit. Bryce Cooper didn't get to play the whole game, but the fact that he was even out on the field playing that hard with his injury proves his love of the game & his teammates. There are so many more seniors that deserve recognition so now is the time.  Let's show these boys that we recognize & appreciate the amazing season they have given us.  We are so proud!
5. It's Game Day!  Good luck to both teams.  This should be a hard fought game.  Let's just remember when its all said & done that these are 9 & 10 yr old boys leaving their hearts on the field.
6. My opinion is that DEFENSE will determine who wins these games. Each team has a pretty strong offense so it will come down to whose team is more capable of stopping the other.
7. 4 great teams! I don't think anyone should take a WIN for granted.
8. Will Vidor be 100% for this game?  I noticed Stevenson on crutches at Sat nights game & saw a couple of injuries take place during the Central game.  How about PNG?  Will they be playing with all their starters?
9. Just to reiterate what was said before...EVERYTHING was done to prevent the score from being run up. 2nd & 3rd string offenses were put in the game after the half.  The scoreboard was not displayed accurately as to not discourage the boys.  Vidor coaches ask that the clock be run continuously.  At what point does the opposing team need to own up to the fact that maybe they just gave up?  The Vidor boys on this team are a very talented, well-coached group of boys.  Even our 3rd string has a lot of talent.  Should they go out on the field & just take a knee every snap because someone else decided not to play ball?  Coaches, Parents, Players, & Refs all asked for this game to end quickly & PNG decided they wanted to continue playing & stopping the clock yet VIDOR gets blamed?  I understand losing a game is hard for anyone, but also lets think about those 3 string boys that may not get to play that position very often.  Would it be fair to them to say we're gonna put you in, but don't do anything?  Unless you were there & saw the effort put in by Vidor coaches to get the game over with please don't cast stones.
10. 55-0 Vidor-W over PNG-P...I think that was the final
11. Saw this thread last week & meant to comment on it.  Vidor gives Montana a lot of well-deserved recognition, but I do believe there are others on the field that are just as deserving.  Devin is a good example.  Also let's not forget about Michael Godeaux & Bryce Cooper as well.  I've seen Bryce play offense a little this season as well as his normal positons on defense & special teams.  Godeaux is a reliable powerhouse.  There are just a lot of talented young men on the team this year & they know how to come together and play some football.
12. If I understand correctly, STJFL has joined with another association & we will be able to compete at the regional & state level.
13. Does anyone know where we can get info on when & where the boys play after the SuperBowl? I know the winners move on to Regional tournaments, but I was curious as to where & when they are being held.
