It was a good night/ it was a bad night

The good news: ! Our district will have two teams in the regional tourney and the Hawks won a less than stellar game with some very good free throw shooting toward the end of the game

The bad news: 1. the coin flip theory of faninthestands worked ( although I was  somewhat correct in voicing my concern about the game  2.  I have to pay Soulja $20 for the Ozen- Central game and I have to pay Dicky V $100 for the Ozen game. 3.  The dunk-o-meter never moved tonite  Just remember our agreement Soulja, you are going to collect both bets so I dont have to face Dicky

If the two of you want to PM me a mailing address, will dispatch funds in the morning- (I'll bet the Dove is a little jealous that the two of you got money from me and he realizes he could have cashed in too)
Not only did the coin flip theory work, but the "continuing to hit 3's after you've nailed several theory " seemed to work, as well (much to my almost chagrin!).

I know- and because of the reliability of that- I plan on using my "connections" to tell Devante and Ziori that if they hit 3 in a row, dont worry about running the offense, just shoot it when you get it because we already know what the results will be.
Ha!  IMO, you certainly don't shy away from a 3 simply because you've hit 3 in a row.  I don't know of a single sharp-shooter in the NBA that would even consider that option!  Nor do I know of a single coach that would encourage that.

Man, forget that.  The dunk is important.  Bosha and Johnson should have been driving down the lane and smashing on people and look at them when they walk away! 8)
Not much chance of that against that stable of athletes.  There were a couple of instances where that could have happened but the HJ players were knocked to the floor.  Prudhomme being in foul trouble also diminshed the chances.

Surely you are not suggesting that a coach knows more than the players?  Also, using the coin flip theory, there is also no reason to shy away from a three just because you have missed three, right?
If I missed 3 3-pointers, I would be looking for a different way to contribute to the team effort.  I've seen gunslingers continue to throw them up until they hit, and personally I disagree with that.

I would do the same, but according to the "coin flip statistical model", if you are a three point shooter and miss three, you have the same chance on the next attempt as you would if you had made three .  But if you did as you said and looked for alternate ways to help, are you not confirming that there are factors involved that cannot be quantified by statistics?
I never compared 3-pointers to 3-point shooting.  I answered your question to someone ripping 3 3-pointers, should they take a 4th, and I said the chances are roughly the same as their typical 3-point shooting average... maybe even a little higher because they had the benefit of a little extra confidence.

You brought up the very good warning of the weary legs.  My thoughts on that is that, after thinking about it more, that everyone's legs are probably more rubbery.  I'd rather have the guy with the hot hand shooting 3's than any other of my rubber legged bunch.

Which bet do you want to get in on?  I seem to be handing out $ to plenty of people, no reason to  omit you.
i want 10 to 1 on a $100 bet that HJ beats Navasota by exactly 4 points.  what do you say?

I would say you are covered.  Now all we have to do is hope/wait that they meet next playoff season for a 6th time.

Ok- I guess waiting 367 days is not much worse than waiting 365.

It worked in Aransas Pass!!! 6 three's in the first quarter of one of the games!!!  ;D ;D ;D
A guy from Splendora hit 5 3's in the first 3 minutes against Liberty, had them playing from behind the whole game which really made a difference in the 9 point loss.

$20 bet with Soulja on Nederland Vs Ozen
$100 bet with Dickie on Nederland +5 vs Ozen ( I was giving 5 to one odds in exchange for the spread)

plus I lost $20 to each of them on the last district games between Nederland and Central and Nederland and Ozen

Call it my version of the Obama wealth redistribution plan
