1. I want to know exactly what you think you know about it. I've seen multiple posts here showing these guys do, in fact, know about Obamacare. Yet, nothing from you?
 2. What does the NCAA say about this and when is it supposed to happen?
 3.
I watched him play only once last year, but that dude made basketball look so dam easy
That's because to him, it is easy. He's a monster and always will be.
 4. SFA. Far more neutral. Plus, it helps that some of us go to school at SFA!  ;D ;D ;D
 5.
Blue's hate list:  HF, BH who's next????????????????
Anyone who isn't HF or Ozen.
 6. Okay, here are my two cents. For those of you that don't know, I am, well, I WAS a player as of last friday at around ten o'clock. I have played HJ basketball for 4 years now, and I can honestly say that in all my four years, I have never seen a team as disciplined as LaVega. They were in a lot of ways like Nederland except far more athletic. They did nothing dumb or flashy, they just played solid, fundamental basketball. Players from LaVega were where they were supposed to be at all times. When we went up one with forty seconds left and tried to make the pass up the court to get it across and stall, the LaVega players knew they needed to get the ball. They knew who our go-to guy was Prudhomme, so they stuck to him like glue. No timeout was needed to tell their players where to be. The defense they played was awesome. Not perfect, but awesome. They started out soft and let you get the ball up the court for the first part of the game, then around the third quarter, they started a little half-court trap defense, then once crunch time came around, there was full-court pressure! HJ knew how to beat it and had prepared for it, but Friday night, after getting ready to take the floor because Athens was shooting free-throws to win it basically, and then having to wait through TWO overtime periods did something to both teams that night, I can promise you that. LaVega was a [s]good[/s] great team. Their will to win was just like that of HJ's. They were not unbeatable, and anyone who watched Friday night could have told you that. HJ, I dare to say, COULD have one that game, but I don't think SHOULD have one the game. Were we capable of winning that game? NO DOUBT!!!!! But capability, probability, and actuality are three totally different things that can be extremely painful when they all don't agree. Now for the most important part of my post. LaVega's basketball team (not it's fans, because I am hearing differently of them, although I'm not positive about them) was the classiest group of young men I have seen in a LONG time (aside from HJ of course). They were extremely happy that they one that game, but when we went to shake their hands, there was not an ounce of sneering or disrespect coming from them. All they had were positive things to say about us and I think that is the most important aspect of High-School athletics. After the game when we were waiting on the bus to come pick us up at the back of the Coliseum, they came out AGAIN and shook all of our hands, congratulating us on a great season and complimenting all of us. They were extremely well-mannered, and if I HAD to lose to anyone, I'm glad it was them.
 7. Unless I'm totally mistaken, I didn't see any other districts with two teams still in the playoffs at this point. Could you argue that 21-AAA is the toughest district in the state based on this?
 8.
Well that is because SETXsports has a BUNCH of folks who are willing to share the info they get when they go to the games.
Not just that, we have a BUNCH of folks who are simply willing to GO to the games!
 9. It worked in Aransas Pass!!! 6 three's in the first quarter of one of the games!!!  ;D ;D ;D
 10. That's got to be a scary thought. Stopping one just leads to another going off!!!
 11. I know they had a pretty good beat-down of Seals-Jones and co., but how does Royal compare to Silsbee? (I apologize if there were comparisons made in a different thread and I missed them.)

To knock of West Orange in the manner they did, and then the thrashing of Cleveland (who, just last year, played HJ in a really close game in Baytown) just shows that they have come a long way. And, I really am pulling for HF to beat Navasota. I think that would be awesome for HF to go to Regionals after all of the adversity they had to overcome this season. Go Horns!
In order for Hamshire-Fannett to go to regionals they would not only have to beat Navasota, but also beat the winner of HJ and Sealy. ;)
I consider the Regional Quarterfinals to be Regionals. They may not be playing in Huntsville, but the banner would still say REGIONAL Quarterfinalist.  ;)
These are the banners that teams put up when they have no regional titles.... ;D 8)
Regardless, HF is the most improved team by far. I still remember the thread, "HF Coach DeCello out." To have not made the playoffs in a LONG time, and then to have the beginning of the season they did, well, that tells you something about this team. Good luck Horns. I hope to see you in the REGIONAL QUARTERFINALS game.
 13. I saw EC play in their tournament (I still think they should have beaten LCM) and then again against Huntington in the warm-up game. I tell you what, they are a good little 2A team. Look for them to make a nice little run!

I can see where it might be difficult to read.  :D
Only to those that aren't from the zone that Hardin-Jefferson ISD pulls from!  ;D ;D ;D
 18.
I have a close associate who attended a LaVega home game about 2 weeks ago.  His remark was that they were good but he did not consider them to be unbeatable.  He said that he felt as though they scored 80% of their points on full court baseball passes after a rebound.
So what would happen if a team were to cover back and play defense?
 19. Again, I have not seen Yates play ever in person. But, I have seen highlights and footage from their games. Yates seems to play up and down the floor with a lot of speed. What if a team were to cover the outlet pass up the floor? What if they rotated to the backside block on defense during a fast break? What if they stepped up and took a charge when a player from Yates went for a dunk? I feel that if teams were to do all of these things (simple defense) and were able to score, then they would definitely have a shot! Again, this is based only on what I have seen of Yates in clips and highlight reels.
OK - here's two piano players, one flautist, one harpist, and one cello player.  They are all males, they are all 6'2" or slightly over and they all have heart.  Start them against HJ or Silsbee - in my opinion, it'll be "die trying."
How you gonna have the same heart playing a *harp?*  ::) ::)
All of these guys are passionateabout the music they play.  Their hearts abound.  (Dove, that's abound not "rebound." ;D)
I just hope they ran cross country instead of universal off season.
Oh, they did!  ;) ;)
 21.
The term 'talent' has been discussed in many different aspects on this forum. One's perception of talent seems to be different than the next guy's opinion. What are the top 5 (or more) qualities, in your opinion, that makes a High School kid 'talented'? There are plenty more, I know, but this should get it started: (Does not have to be in order) 1. Basketball IQ 2. Athleticism* 3. Diversified Scoring Ability (inside, outside, SMRJ, FTs) 4. Defensive Effeciency (Steals, Blocked Shots, defensive pressure) 5. Ball Control (Low TO/steal ratio; dribbling/passing) There are plenty others, I know.
In my opinion, this criteria is not consistent. Basketball IQ and Athleticism are very general where as 3, 4, and 5 are more specific. Scoring ability and ball control are factors that make up the equation of IQ, and your defensive abilities and efficiency (correctly spelled) fall more under the category of athleticism. I don't think it is an argument that Basketball IQ would be taken over athleticism any day of the week. You can make yourself stronger, quicker, and more agile, we all have seen it done. But, your basketball IQ isn't something that will change much over time, no matter how many drills you go through in practice.
