Yes! Yes!
Dove, we all know you're excited because Yates has left 4A so Ozen will have nothing to worry about!!!!!! Oh wait, I forgot, Ozen has Nederland and Central to worry about first!  8)
 2. I don't know about you guys, but I get more excited over high school seeding and placement than I do with the NCAA tourney!!!
 3.

As scary as it is, I definitely would love to see a Silsbee vs. HJ Regional Final!!!
Hey, HJ - I'm with you on that.  Let's hope so.  But we have to watch out for Yates.  Oh, that's right, Yates doesn't take over all things basketball in 3-A Region III until next season.  We gotta' do it while we can.
We all know Yates is good and will give any team all they've got. But I know that at HJ, even if they are playing the Los Angeles Lakers, they expect to win. No matter who they play, they tend to find a way to battle. I don't know if Silsbee is the same way, but I would expect so. Yates may beat HJ every time they play, but I can guarantee you that it won't be in the fashion they usually do. But I have to say, if HJ or Silsbee is to win State, this would be the year to do it!

 5.
Silsbee will beat WO-S by whatever point spread they beat HF.
Can I hold you to this???  ;D ;D ;D
 6. Granted I have only seen the kid play twice, Zach English does not stand out to me as one of the top ten players in the area. He may not turn the ball over, but as from what I have seen, he is not that much of a threat unless he is posted up from behind the three point line. He is definitely not a better player than Zjori Bosha nor Devante Johnson, who I feel are probably top ten-fifteen in the area. What are your thoughts?

 8. I wouldn't go as far as saying OF could have won that game, but I will agree that the players from Silsbee can't keep their mouths shut on the court. It's one thing to get in the mind of your opponent, but do it with the way you play the game, not how you talk to him. It just causes problems and there is no place for it on the basketball court. And yes, I will dare to say that that's the difference between Silsbee and HJ. HJ has far more class than Silsbee. The HJ players tried to shake the hands of those from Silsbee after the game, but were refuted by the PLAYERS from Silsbee taunting them and throwing the last-second shot win in their faces. HJ knew they lost and tried to congratulate the other team, but there was no class from the Silsbee players.
 9. I think you also run the risk of injury. If you KNOW you are going to win, then what the heck? Send in those that don't play as much. However, if you are doing what HJ did last night, which is working on a different defensive set that doesn't get run very often (but may be needed somewhere down the line against a Silsbee or a Mexia or a Waco La Vega), then that is another reason to leave the starters in. You do have to remember though, that there are thirty-two minutes in every basketball game, and all of them have to be played. And, sleepy, the intensity argument is absolutely true!
 10.
Officials were called in once again by the UIL.  Officials were from the College Station UIL Chapter.  Honestly there were some bad calls, but it went both ways.
Had the game been called correctly, it would have been a quite larger margin of victory for the Hawks.
 11. Isn't Silsbee #4, not #1? Since when do we put the Dirty Dozen polls in the thread names??? I know AAW couldn't resist!!!  ::) ::) ::)
 12. My favorite memory would have to be two games. Two years ago at home and last year at home. Garret Gustafson did the exact same thing to start both games. I believe two years ago, Silsbee won the tip and came down and dunked to start the game, but Gus got the ball, sprinted up the floor, pulled up at the three point line and dropped a three to start the game. Last year, he had the ball at the top, no one was putting pressure, so he pulled up and dropped it through the bottom of the net. Two years straight, started it the same way!  ;D ;D ;D
 13. Let's not forget that YOU, BS, will have nothing to do with either game. The Silsbee players can throw it in HJ's face, but not the Silsbee fans who have no bearing on the game whatsoever. You may be able to say you predicted the outcome, but the players are the one's with the bragging rights, not an illiterate guy who hides behind a screen name.
 14.

I'd like to see Yates vs HJ Silsbee vs Central and Ozen vs Memorial.
These seem like good games with the exception of Memorial and Ozen.  They have played 4 times  already this year and have split 2-2.
Then it should be a good game if they have split the series!  ;D ;D ;D
 15. The layup vs. dunk argument all depends on the player. If the kid is athletic enough to dunk every time down the floor, he should do it. The ball has less of a chance of bouncing too hard off of the backboard or in the wrong direction when attempting a layup. With a dunk, it goes straight down through the hoop with no chance for any discrepancy. If the kid can only dunk on a fast break opportunity, then he needs to wait for that. Let's face it. A dunk is more exciting than a layup because it's not nearly as common. If you are trying to get the crowd off of their feet, flush it. If not, a layup is two points as well. But, with a fan base like HJ's, dunk it if 'ya got it!
 16.
I'd like to see Yates vs HJ Silsbee vs Central and Ozen vs Memorial.
That is if HJ makes the playoffs.  ::) ;)
 17. Max Preps is not a legitimate site in my opinion. Their stats are completely wrong. Especially with football! So if you are taking polls from there, they are probably not valid.

Good job dogs.
Reality check: Yall almost lost to a 3-A school ::)
Key word: ALMOST.  Correct me if Im wrong, doesnt it go down in the books as a WIN?? By the way Dove Ozen almost won against Central....So, I guess its better to "almost lose" than it is to "almost win".  ;D :o
BOOM!  :o :o BTW-Ned AND Central already lost to the #1 3A team in the state, and I guarantee that Ozen would lose to HJ too!
HJ played Ozen in a scrimmage earlier this year. The played one 20 min. running clock "half" and beat them by 20 if I'm not mistaken.
 19. #1 in the state? Wow. That's saying a lot. But, the rankings mean absolutely NOTHING!!!!!!!!! This isn't college football, and I hope it never will be. However, it is nice to see a team from SETX holding the #1 spot!!!
 20. 1. Central 2. Livingston T3. LCM T3. Nederland 4. Ozen 5. Lumberton 6. PNG 7. Vidor I see LCM doing really well this year. In the two games I saw them play against HJ, they held their own - to a point. Nederland wasn't able to do so.
