Silsbee lost their potential starting post player till at least the first of January. He injured his knee in the first football scrimmage and will miss all of football season and will not be back till district starts in basketball.

Which really bring up another subject matter but still related to the post.  It may not be as common as this area, but there are many athletes who begin to focus only on one sport once they get into high school. I know one particular kid out of the Houston area who was being recruited by a Big 12 school. Had a major knee injury coming into his senior year. I think he missed all of the football season and eventually went to JUCO.

I think this is becoming more popular, and if you excel in basketball I personally think it is the best decision to stay out of football. Don't get me wrong I like football....BUT....I LOVE basketball.

HS athletes (and their parents!!) look forward for many years for that senior year. Having it taken away due to injury is an indescribable disappointment I'm sure.

His parents moved to Nederland this summer from Las Vegas. His uncle lives in Nederland. I think his parents use to live in Nederland too? Maybe someone can verify that? He will be a Senior this year. Haven't seen him play, but I hear he played well in summer ball. I think he plays Forward, maybe 6'4"/6'5"?

I watched him play a couple of games this summer. He will definitely be an asset to the team. Will be interesting to see how he meshes with the rest of the team.
