West Sabine vs. Big Sandy Game 2 Thread/West Sabine wins series 2-0

Game 2 of this Class 1A bi-district best of 3 series will take place at Kirbyville High School at 12:00 p.m.  West Sabine took a 1-0 series lead with a 4-2 win over Big Sandy last night.

Game 3, if necessary will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.

The winner of this series will play Lovelady in the area round.

Any word on the particulars for the Lovelady series?

The word I'm getting is that it will be a home-in-home, 2 out of 3 series starting Thursday night at 6:00 @ Lovelady and Saturday @ Pineland at noon, with the if necessary game to follow afterward if needed. Just what I've got from my sources.

Thursday is at 6:30. Why did they do a home and home? Part of the fun of the playoffs is playing in different parks.

We have a new baseball field to go with our new high school. My guess is they wanted to show it off, because it is a great place to play!

Bigger schools have always done this and with more and more 1a schools building new facilites it makes sense to play at home. You have a bigger fan base, less money tied up in travel and you get to keep the gate and concession money.  With gas close to $4.00 a gallon it makes it harder for the regular fans to go. Parents and family will always be there so do whatever you can to help anyone be there.
