2011 Senior Showcase Game Info

[center]   We would like to invite you to this year's 2nd Annual Southeast Texas Senior Showcase game to be held on May 17th at the Lamar University Soccer Complex. We are excited to announce that this year there will be a women's and a men's game. Coach Hardman and Coach Swift at Lamar have been very helpful in accomodating us and allowing us the use of their wonderful facilities for this contest. The games will take place at 5 and 7. This is an exciting way to honor our seniors and give them a memorable exit to high school soccer here in Southeast Texas.
The teams will be divided up by the district alignment. The NORTH team will be made up of Lumberton, Livingston, Liberty, HJ, Silsbee, Jasper and will also include Kelly and Westbrook. The SOUTH team will include players from Nederland, PNG, LCM, Vidor, Central, Ozen, Bridge City, HF and will feature players from Pt Arthur Memorial.

Rosters will be released next week. Ticket prices are $4 adult and $2 for students with a valid school ID. [/center]

How do Seniors get picked for this upcoming event.

Sort of a stacked deck on the girl's side, is it not? Three district (or greater) champions vs one.

District 38 is made up 6 4A schools and 2 3A schools. 8 total teams
District 37 is made up 2 4As schools and 4 3A schools. 6 total teams

This is the way they were split last year as well. No intention to stack anything.
The split is meant to balance out the number of teams as best we can.

I have heard at the new one with turf. This shall be a great game for both sides of the 37 and 38 A. Should be a joy to watch the teams best Seniors in each district play.
