West Orange Stark vs Jasper

[monknuk68]

Stangs 42-10. Hoping we can improve on penalties. To me it starts with the coaches getting on the players and hard consequences. Old school hard punishment.

I got a feeling the Mustangs are going to score more than 42. (on purpose) 😉

I disagree. I feel backups will come early to not make it too ugly out of respect.

You obviously don't know the situation like I have been told.

But I won't be too surprised if that is the case.

Thompson, at least publicly, supported and recommended Hickman for the job. I would suspect some class and respect, but you never know.

If u believe that. You wont believe whats coming next

[Mballer1]

I believe if WOS keeps Mr Jefferson in the game he could rush for 400 at least.

Massey projections has this one 46-6 WO-S

He's referring to the book that Coach Thompson has out.

[WOSdrummer99]

Cornel Thompson’s book is titled “WOS Football, A Way of Life,” a 424‑page history of the West Orange‑Stark Mustangs football program.

It was written by Cornel Thompson, the longtime West Orange‑Stark (WOS) coach who spent over 45 years with the program

Thompson’s book is a detailed historical record of the winningest high school football program in Texas, covering:
Players, coaches, games, and records across 45 years

Behind‑the‑scenes stories, halftime adjustments, and coaching decisions

Early program history, including the 1977 consolidation of Stark High and West Orange High

Profiles of predecessors Steve McCarty and Dan Hooks in early chapters

Season‑by‑season accounts, including state championships and playoff runs

All‑state players and statistical records at the end of the book

Thompson describes the work as a “family affair,” noting generations of players he coached over decades

Thompson said he wanted to preserve the legacy of WOS football because “nobody in the state of Texas has done what we’ve done for forty‑five years”

He emphasized that the book was not written for profit, but to document the program’s unmatched consistency and culture

The book is self‑published and sold directly through Thompson:
Paperback price: $35

Copies are available by contacting Coach Thompson directly

Gotcha....didnt know he wrote a book...

I do know when we wrote a feature before the state game on Hickman and taking WOS back to the title game we reached out to Coach Thompson and he only gave us a "no comment"

Which kinda told me all I needed to know

I think you would enjoy the book. Maybe good read during those long flights

[WOSdrummer99]
